Ok so according to chapter 333, there are essentially two different timelines. In the future lucy time line, no one closes the gates, and 10000 dragons come through and destroy the world. In the future Rogue time line, Lucy closes the gate and Acnologia rules the world instead.
My question is, which is the 'original' timeline that's meant to happen? I was under the impression that the 'original' timeline was future Lucy's time line, where the world get's destroyed by the dragons, and she comes back in the past to stop that from happening, which results in the second time line, where the world gets ruled by acnologia instead, and future Rogue decides to come back and change that, such that he can control the dragons and defeat Acnologia.
Here comes the problem though. Why was the gate opened in the first place? The 10000 dragons appeared only because the gate was opened. The gate was opened only because future Rogue came back and instigated it by telling the lie that the gate needs to be opened to stop the dragons. Soooooo, what actually happened originally???
If Rogue's timeline was the original one, where no dragons come through, and the world just gets conquered by Acnologia, that wouldn't make sense either since future Rogue said that Lucy was the one that closed the gate, which means that by default, the gate gets opened.
There's also the point where future Lucy seemed to have no idea that the gates would bring about the dragons.........
So yeah, in other words, I'm confused as hell, and I just wanna know if i'm the only confused one because I'm missing something, or is this really just not clear.
