New Tankobon Volume Out for Blue Mistral
A couple of weeks ago, via cheap shipping (slow) from Japan, I ordered Fairy Tail Blue Mistral 1 and Fairy Tail 47. I got them yesterday. My daughters immediate reaction to the cover art on Blue Mistral was that it looked "really girly". Rather than the subdued browns of the main series, the Blue Mistral cover was bright Blue and Yellow. It contains the first 4 chapters of Blue Mistral (whereas volume 47 of Fairy Tail contains 9 chapters - 395-403.) And yes, the plot is a bit bubbly.
Fairy Girls
Has anybody here other than me read Fairy Girls? It is a spin-off of Fairy Tail. I got it as part of a magazine special (I also got a digital version of this week's Shonen Weekly. I hadn't known that Shonen Weekly has a digital version.) Anyways, Fairy Girls is a spin off of the main series taking place in Crocus during the Grand Magic Games. I won't say more now in case some of you guys haven't read it yet, and don't like spoilers.
Free Fairy Tail E-book stuff
Hello. Today, from an internet book seller I have been buying stuff from (Honto), I was given a couple of free Fairy Tail e-publications. One was an e-book version of volume 1 of Fairy Tail. The other was a "sampler" from Young Shonen of various comics, including one from Fairy Tail. I haven't had the chance to read the Fairy Tail story in the sampler, but a quick glance shows Jellal still as a member of the council and the fat Santa Claus looking guy still being there as well. So I don't know if it is a repeat of an old story or something new. If it is something new, I'll inform you.

The villages resident mage (a young girl Wendy's age) likes a certain boy, but can't get his attention, but the boy quickly shows affection for Wendy. Wendy feels a certain way that she doesn't quite understand when with the boy. Wendy is shown a "dragon treasure" that is supposed to grant wishes, but nobody knows how to use it. How will this be resolved? I suppose we will have to wait until next month to find ou!
Blue Mistral
It seems nobody here has reviewed the Blue Mistral comic (based on the adventures of Wendy from Fairy Tail) here. Somebody put a scanlation on Manga Panda yesterday. The story is so far is about Wendy going on her first real solo assignment, one which calls for only dragon slayers. She goes to a remote village and meets a young girl there about her age, who happens to have some magical ability, and learns that the people are worried that the spirit of a dragon is making people disappear. The village girls father was hurt by a disappearing reappearing bridge which goes to the Valley of the Dragons, and then Wendy and the girl are victims of the same bridge, but Carla and Wendy save the day, at which point the village girl realizes that …
