Imagination: Fairy Tail fighting game - Mechanics

Lately, having looked at some of the stuff for recent battle game projects for various anime/manga-related series (such as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, One Piece: Kaizoku Musou 2, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 and BlazBlue: Chronophantasma), I've been wondering about what one of these sorts of games for Fairy Tail would be like.

There are many aspects of such a game to think about, one of the most important of which is the gameplay and mechanics of the game. There are many ways in which things could be done, some no doubt more preferable than others.

My question is this:

If a Fairy Tail fighting game was developed, what sort of gameplay and system mechanics do you think should be implemented?
