Eyy, I'm back! Due to various life circumstances (like me quit-firing my job [it was a weird day]) and the perpetual desire to just drown myself in alcohol, plus school starting, I have a reason to procrastinate! That means guess what, guys? IT MEANS WE CAN FINALLY GO BACK TO HAVING AN AWESOME TU!!! *crickets chirp* Well...whatever. >_> Just a reminder in case all you fanciful hoes forgot, the prizes for getting my puzzle right are:
1. Demodding any mod of your choice for 4 hours. 2. Chat banning anyone of your choice (sans admin level and higher) for 4 hours. 3. Wiki-banning anyone for 4 hours. 4. Chat mod for a day.
You can claim these prizes up until the penultimate day of the month (in case for some reason you've never heard this word or read Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events series, it means the next to last day of the month; so October 30th in this month's case). If you don't claim it by then, then tough shit! I'm literally on the wiki every single day, and there are multiple ways to get hold of me. :'D
In the event an admin (mp Carry lel) gets the puzzle, I'll post a new one in the comments, acknowledge her fantastic ability to solve my terribly easy puzzles, and then hope that you hoes read the comments. .-.
Now, in regards to actual content, for some reason we have discussion galore. I don't get why. Some of these "discussions" are merely people asking a confirmation question or trying to start a vote about something retarded that doesn't require a vote. >_> I'm about half ready to re-lock Quick News to rollback level because apparently common sense only exists at the rollback level and higher. Just a forewarning, if I see another bogus discussion added, imma lock it. I shouldn't have to monitor the template to make sure that we all know what is a discussion that requires a real vote vs. just a common sense question that is just one-and-done-let's-move-on.
Also good article pages, blah blah blah PUZZLE TIME
Numbers for debate Apocalypse comes this way When keys fade away
I hope I was clear, cuz I tried to make this haiku rhyme. ;D
Yagdo Rigora's name was not anglicized to Yagd Rigola.
At some point, we're going to make the spin-off pages solo pages with chapter listings, the short summaries, character and magic lists, etc. as opposed to keeping all the spin-off, non-canon content mixed into the canon mainspace. Also we have very little people interested in this shit, nowhere to put this long-running info on our already-large pages, and I'm surprised no one even remotely suggested, "Eh, just let the LUT do it." Cuz if you did, you'd probably be dead. =)
Karacka's Earth Phasing was deleted and he was just listed as being a user of Phasing Magic.
Zera's page was not split to differentiate between the dead girl and the illusion, which honestly I would have preferred it get split, but I recognize the reasons to keep it together. Gotta say, however, some of the support and opposition reasons were pretty bogus.
Brief illusion summaries (i.e. Brain, filler Zancrow and Azuma) were not removed from the respective character synopses.
Minerva's spell Ih Ragdo was deleted on the grounds that an eloquent, different-language way to say "gtfo" when she says similar stuff when not casting those bubbles does not constitute being worthy of a spell page.
Zirconis' page split was brought up again, and it was decided to stay split because fuck the Eclipse stuff.
Wahru Ihyto was renamed to "Wahl Icht".
Hiro for some fucking reason changed the kanji for Dimaria Yesta's alias, so we had a vote between War Maiden and Valkyrie, and Valkyrie won out, because a Valkyrie and a War Maiden are the same thing and the kanji does actually literally translate to both. >_> Also Valkyrie is mucho coolio. ;o
There's a discussion open about Ikaruga's sword skills, and more than a couple opinions would be great before I close it. I don't like closing important discussions with only input from a couple people. C'mon people, add to the mix! Your opinions are important too, unless they're stupid and baseless!
Gajeel's profile image was not changed.
Happy's profile image was not changed.
MY (looks at Rai) God Serena's profile picture was not changed because it would've been an ugly square.
Arlock's profile picture was changed.

Future Lucy's profile picture was changed.
The profile picture for Devil Slayer Magic was changed to a much better, much more epic manga version.
September's Sexiest Mage Alive is Juvia Lockser. She's an 17 year old Mage of Fairy Tail that employs Water as her main form of Magic. Her interests include: Gray-sama, Gray-sama, and even more Gray-sama.
So bitches, last month, I opened a petition to change Makarov's name and only 3 OF YOU BOTHERED TO SIGN. HOW DARE YOU. I AM SO MAD AT YOU THAT I CAN'T TAKE MY FINGER OFF OF SHIFT RIGHT NOW! Okay, now that I'm done with yelling at you all, let's talk manga.
So now that Zeref has killed Mavis, he goes back to being all emo and brings her body back to the guild where he runs into Precht. Precht informs Zeref that everyone is preparing for the harvest festival. Seeing Mavis, Precht is shocked, stating she has been missing for a year and that he has had to act as guild master in her place. Zeref then drops her to the ground like she was worthless trash. Meanwhile, Tristan screamed that you can't treat a loli like that. Precht yells at Zeref but Zeref says she won't be moving anymore, causing Precht to notice that she is not moving. He asks if Zeref did something to her but he simply walks away, saying goodbye to Mavis. Zeref then reveals his identity to Precht. Zeref says if Mavis was a fairy, then that would make him Spriggan. He walks away, shedding a tear as he says he shouldn't have fallen in love. Precht tends to Mavis, finding she has no heartbeat but that her magic can still be felt. He rushes her under the guild where he has a lacrima he thinks can resurrect her. After trying many resurrection spells, Precht realizes the truth, that Mavis has the contradictory curse and she killed Yury's wife (whom I have already forgotten the name of). From there, Precht develops the lies we had been told about Mavis and officially becomes the second guild master. Researching for years on how to bring her back, Precht finally realizes what Mavis has become, a new kind of magic, a source of unlimited magic power. Back at the guild, Mavis goes into more detail about Fairy Heart, stating that if Etherion were to be hooked up to Fairy Heart, it could be fired repeatedly without worry as the magic source is infinite. As everyone is shocked over this revelation, Mavis says it is a magic born of her sins and Gajeel steps in and states that falling in love is not a sin. Everyone then turns their reactions towards him in shock. Everyone encourages Mavis and Natsu then tells everyone that he will take on Zeref with his new super secret technique.
I honestly liked this chapter. It was a really nice resolution to Mavis' story and I think it did a great job of showing how Precht became Hades. I think Precht has now become a much more sympathetic character due to this whole saga. With Natsu's secret technique now, we are still left wondering what it is, all we know is it has something to do with whats under the bandages on his arm.
Over at the Alvarez Empire, we learn that Brandish didn't kill Marin, but instead miniaturized him. As he endlessly compliments her while painting her toes, he asks to be returned to his original size. Before she can respond however, Dimaria bursts in, saying she heard that Brandish had let the Fairy Tail members go. Brandish simply states that she didn't let them go, but rather it was too much of a pain so she didn't bother to stop them. Marin chimes in, stating Dimaria looks good today and Dimaria tells Brandish to return him to his original size as its like talking to a bug. Brandish proclaims what a pain it is before Dimaria says the Spriggan 12 have been summoned as she then leaves. Brandish grabs Marin between her toes and picks him up, saying how much she hates Dimaria as she is so uncute.
Back at Fairy Tail, Natsu says his secret technique is a secret and won't say what it is. Everyone erupts into curiosity with Mest biting Gajeel's head because he is so curious. Natsu says his technique can only be used once but he created it just to take down Zeref. Everyone talks about their confidence in Natsu before Lucy asks Makarov to give more insight into what they will be facing. Makarov then rattles off what he knows, stating that Emperor Spriggan is Zeref and that he has an elite force called the Spriggan 12. At the meeting of the Spriggans, 7 of them have gathered and Yajeel tells Zeref that Nineheart is still somewhere in the castle but has not come. Zeref says its fine, but Invel sucks up to him saying its not fine for one of the 12 to disobey his orders. Makarov states that Invel is Zeref's closest consul and that he uses Ice Magic, leading Gray to of course take over and basically declare he will fight Invel cause why fight ice with fire when you can fight it with more ice! Back in the castle, Ajeel leans back in his chair and tells them to just get on with it. Makarov then tells the members of Fairy Tail that Ajeel is a member of the Spriggans that always wants to fight. Natsu chimes in, somewhat signaling that Ajeel will be his opponent. Zeref tells the other spriggans that they will soon invade Ishgar and Brandish proclaims it to be such a pain. Zeref asks her what happened to her listening to him. She states that whatever he commands, she will do, even if it is a pain. Makarov states Brandish hates fights but she can wipe a nation off the planet if she needed to. Erza says they encountered her before and she can change mass. Dimaria then tells Brandish that no one likes a person that doesn't think before they speak. Brandish' eyes then flare wide as she tells Dimaria that the one she doesn't like is her. Dimaria then states that she guesses they will never be friends. Makarov informs everyone that he knows nothing about Dimaria's magic, only that she has fought in and won many wars. Erza then wonders if she is not a mage. Back at the castle, Zeref asks God Serena if it will be hard for him to destroy his home land and then this happened
And then Wrath just came in his pants. So back at the guild, Makarov tells them that while God Serena may be deplorable, his strength should not be taken lightly. The rest of the guild questions why he turned traitor before August enters the scene at Alvarez and says they are all prepared for Ragnarok, leading Makarov to gain a look of intense fear across his face as he says August is on a different level than everyone else. Makarov states that August is rumored to know magic of every element, even ancient ones, and knows more forms of magic than Zeref himself. Makarov says that is all he has on the members but he knows the names of 3 others, Neinhart, Bloodman (YES WRATH, ITS BLOODMAN, BRADMAN IS THE DUMBEST SHIT EVER) and Wahl Icht, the adjudicator. Everyone breaks out into pointless babble about how they will defeat the enemy and bla bla bla
Anyway, out in the mountains, Acnologia lays on the ground, seemingly having been bested by Zeref. He states the arm that Igneel took from him is itching. He then states he will take everything back at the Dragon King festival. Transforming into his dragon form, he says the only one deserving of the title, king of dragons, is him.
So....WOW. So much content packed into one chapter. I loved everything about it. First of all, Brandish is the best character introduced in a long ass time. She is absolutely hysterical. I love everything about her. Her looks, her magic, her personality. She is perfect! Then we have God Serena and Wrath gets a giant boner every time someone mentions him. Everything about this chapter was just so hype. I honestly can't wait to see how everything turns out.
Now back at her apartment, Lucy updates her diary with the events about to occur and about Fairy Heart. As she finishes, Natsu and Happy interrupt her, having snuck into her apartment again. Lucy kicks them away but they say they are bored as the town has been evacuated. Lucy says they need to get rest as they have to be at the battlefield tomorrow and she isn't excited for it like Natsu is, but Natsu says he isnt excited either. He says he likes contests of strength, not battles to the death. He states he likes battles where he can go all out and compare his strength to his opponents but this one is different as they need to do everything to win otherwise they will die. He then says that he has stuff he has to do after the battle so they have to win. Lucy tells him not to talk about the future as he can jinx them but Natsu says Igneel told him to talk like that as it will make him want to live. Happy then suggests they play strip poker but Lucy says no and says he is already naked.
At the guild, Erza and Wendy take a bath and Wendy asks if Crime Sorciere will help, to which Erza responds that they most likely will. Wendy is happy to hear this but Carla hasn't forgiven them for destroying Cait Shelter. Erza then asks if Wendy remembers when she asked Wendy to join the guild and Wendy says she was thankful. Erza then thinks to hersehow she could have gotten such a young girl involved in all of this as we are treated to some overly gratuitous Erza ass. Wendy then gets up and hugs Erza, telling her to let her be the one to protect her this time. Erza turns around and smothers Wendy in her boobs and says she has become a fine mage.
Elsewhere, Juvia approaches Gray, who offers her some chocolate. Juvia takes hold of the chocolate and begins to get worked up over it before Gray says he is glad she is there, causing her to go crazy. Gray then tells her he will give her his answer after the battle, but to let him focus on that for now as he has tricks up his sleeve as well. At the guild, Makarov, Warren and Macao finalize details of their plan before Mavis arrives and says she has checked on everyone and they seem strong. Makarov however thinks they are barely holding up. Makarov says then though that it is his job to stand before his children no matter what. As he says this though, the ground begins to quake and everyone begins to look outside and they even wake up GAJEEL AND LEVY WHO WERE TOTALLY IN THE SAME BED AND I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE TRIES TO SAY OTHERWISE. Makarov and Warren are sent into a panic as they realize that Warren's detection system failed and that Alvarez has arrived with Ajeel leading the fleet.
So basically, this chapter set up for the 3 major 'ships of Nalu, Gruvia and Gajeevy to happen with Gajeel and Levy straight up sleeping with each other. I interpreted Lucy saying "If it wasn't for her, we would have never met" as meaning Natsu, but I guess thats open for interpretation. Im not really into shipping but this chapter was kind of heavy handed with it. I did like the calm before the storm feel it had to it. For those unaware, I was a writing major in college, and one of the things I remember my professor saying is "If you take away all the hope in a situation and leave just a glimmer of light, what you are left with is something very interesting". I think this is what Mashima is trying to achieve here. The situation seems very hopeless. All of the Spriggans are far more powerful than the members of FT, but there is a chance. The problem is we know they will win and they will most likely win through bullshit means, which kind of destroys the hype a bit, but still, interesting.
So with the Empire invading, Mavis sounds the alarm. Ajeel fires but the missiles are stopped by a barrier enacted by Freed. FREED. OMG A NON MAIN CHARACTER DID SOMETHING. HALLELUJAH. As Freed struggles to keep the barrier up, Macao states they didnt expect them to come from the west. Because it makes no sense for the country to the west to attack from the west, right? RIGHT? Anyway, so Mavis being Mavis stated she totally called it and enacts their plan, which involves two teams, Osprey Force and Flying Dragon Force, which frankly sound better as squad or team but Bitch insisted they be called force because of the pun in Flying Dragon Force. Oh well. Osprey "Force" consists of the Connells, or more precisely, its Bisca who fires at the enemy forces and takes down one of their ships. Enter Flying Dragon "Force" (it sounds so hokey dude), which turns out to be exactly that... Dragon Slayers being flown around by Exceed. They dodge fire as they fight the ships while Bisca charges her gun, which we soon learn is a freaking stripped down Jupiter Canon which she fires straight at Ajeel's forces. Ajeel is able to deflect the blast to save himself but it blows up many of the surrounding ships. Gajeel and Co. then land aboard the ship, looking all badass, but of course that doesn't last long as they are now aboard transportation and instantly become sick, leading Mavis to say she forgot about that. Just as Ajeel is about to kill Natsu though, the ship is sliced in half and the crew is defeated as Erza in her Heaven's Wheel Armor prepares to take down Ajeel. Back on the ground, Evergreen states the enemy should prepare to bow down before their queen Titania.
Ok good first. I LOVED that we got to see Freed and Bisca being of use. It gets tiring of only seeing Team Natsu + Gajeel, Mira, Laxus, Juvia and sometimes Cana doing stuff. I like that more minor characters are being of use. I also loved Ever at the end. It shows how much this war means to everyone that Ever is putting her pride away and acknowledging Erza as the queen of the fairies. Personal differences mean nothing anymore. This is a fight to survive and you need every asset you have and the guild is making use of everyone, which is great.
The one thing I don't like about this chapter is Erza vs Ajeel. I just don't feel any hype about the matchup. I'm not even upset about the same thing as most people (Erza just going to put flame pants on and win). What I'm upset about is that the match just doesn't feel right. Erza's magic isn't big and showy like Ajeel's. She is more of an up close and personal fighter whereas Ajeel seems to fight by just overwhelming his opponents at distance with his sand and sand constructs. I can't imagine a very cool fight of just Erza dodging or slicing through the sand to get in close. It would feel kind of boring to me.
WARNING, BIG LONG RANT ABOUT MY EXPECTATIONS INCOMING
I think we all have expectations of who would fight who and to me, I wanted to see Erza fight Dimaria. I think that would be a much cooler matchup. I know Erza always fights the sword users or up close and personal fighters, but I get the sense that Dimaria is one of the strongest Spriggans and I just want to see a really cool match between those two where Erza has to actually requip many times instead of just using the flame pants. I want to see Dimaria force her to have to defend. I feel like if she fights Ajeel, she can just go flame pants, cut through the sand and take down Ajeel quick, but Dimaria would force her to have to do more than that.
Natsu vs Ajeel seems to make more sense. Those two already seem to have a bit of a rivalry/grudge against each other and I think that could turn into a very cool fight. I think we all know Gray vs Invel is coming and I want Invel to be the Ice Dragon Slayer. I think most of us are tired of slayers at this point but Invel just being an ice mage would be a bit lame and it would make sense that Zeref would recruit a dragon slayer to fight Acnologia. I have no idea who would fight Wahl Icht, Bloodman and Neinhart, probably Mira, Laxus, Cana and others. God Serena seems likely to go up against the other Gods of Ishgar. If he is really as strong as has been said, then having the 3 other strongest mages of Ishgar fight him 3 on 1 could turn out to be one of the most epic fights we have seen in Fairy Tail. August, with as hyped as he has been, would only make sense for him to go up against the strongest and best. To me, this means Gildarts and or Jellal. I think people severely underestimate these two. Gildarts to me is 4 Gods of Ishgar level. He has the most destructive magic we have seen. The entire town of Magnolia has to rearrange itself every time he enters town because one small misstep and he could level everything. He went up against Acnologia and managed to get away with only losing a couple limbs. His magic power was enough to bring Natsu to his knees. This is a guy who takes on the hardest missions ever and completes them. Missions that no one has been able to complete in decades. Jellal has more magics listed on his page than anyone else. He was able to become one of the wizard saints using only a thought projection and took out all of Oracion Seis in one attack. He went toe to toe with Jura using a magic he wasn't familiar with and would have easily won against Jura using his own magic had he not been stopped by Ultear and Meredy. A combination of these two and possibly Makarov as well would probably be an absolutely amazing spectacle. So that just leaves Brandish and I left her as last for a reason. I think she will fight Juvia. Now, you may say "But God, Juvia is weak and couldn't possibly solo a spriggan!" And to that I say, no, Juvia is not weak, but she is certainly not strong enough to beat a spriggan on her own. But there are some things to consider here. First, Brandish is basically Juvia. I saw this and it instantly reminded me why I love Juvia so much and how I see a lot of Juvia in Brandish. They are both so animated, I love them. They crack me up with just their facial expressions. Mashima likes his mirror matches and this is a pretty close match. Second, I think Brandish will turn on the empire. Everyone else in the Spriggans gives off an evil vibe except maybe Dimaria, who seems to follow orders and doesn't really come across as caring. Brandish however doesn't have that feel. She is goofy and likeable. She doesn't like her fellow members and doesn't want to invade Ishgar. She seems to follow Zeref not because she wants to, but because she has to. I think something will happen that will cause her to turn. She isn't the same as the others.
So yeah...thats just my thoughts. Feel free to ignore them. I know most of that won't happen, but if this was my story, thats how I would do it. So yay manga. Im out for this month.
Le Sexy Me: W-what's this? Am I...here? Still? And I'm reviewing the anime again? Oh my money, I guess it's time to give you guys something worthwhile, cuz I haven't done anything for the anime since the May issue. Let's go!!
So with Lucy still reeling over Aquarius disappearing from her life forever and Jackal being subjected to terrible filler torment, the CSK vs. Mard Geer begins, and oh my money, it was glorious. They fight tooth and nail in a beautifully animated sequence. We also get allusions to the Eclipse Spirit arc, which I honestly figured they would do. The only real purpose it served in the long term was to elongate this episode by a few minutes with references, but whatever. As Mard Geer tells the CSK that he has a major flaw, Lucy is attacked by Jackal, but is protected by Aquarius' water in the form of Water Barrier. She then changes clothes, again, and manages to with some increased Magic Power, cast Urano Metria and defeat Jackal in one fell swoop. With that, Jackal is apparently dead/not dead/no one really knows, and the CSK's fight with Mard Geer comes to a close, as the CSK is losing power due to Lucy collapsing. With one last burst of energy, he tricks Mard Geer with his casting of Galaxia Blade, which dispels Alegria and petrifies Mard Geer. With Alegria dispelled, Erza and Minerva can continue their battle, which apparently brings her ridiculously close to climax, and at the same time, Torafuzar finds Lucy on the ground and prepares to kill her, but she is saved by Gajeel. Keyes then attacks Gajeel, but Juvia arrives to save him, and then Silver tries to freeze her, but Gray cancels his ice out, and then when Tempester arrives and tries to fry everyone with fire breath, Natsu shows up, I'm guessing from some time-space warp because everyone is showing up at the same time, and eats the fire. There is then an epic stare-down between four of the strongest and arguably coolest Fairy Tail mages vs. the more lackluster members of the Nine Demon Gates!
That week's score: 8/10. Wonderful animation, good adaptation of a very hyped part of the arc.
This episode picks right up where the last one left off, where Gray apparently recognizes Silver, and Natsu tells him that Silver was the one who froze the Sun Village. Gajeel then mentions that Silver and Gray smell very similar to one another, which prompts Silver to grab Gray and warp him somewhere. The mages and the devils then begin their little bout, which showcases, at least temporarily, how superior the abilities of the Nine Demon Gates are.
Enter filler galore, as Panther Lily's adventure through the rekt Cube is expanded (he finds some iron balls, which are important later; excellent foreshadowing from the anime team), until he finds Happy with a...mushroom on his head. Cue drop-dead hilarious scenes of Panther Lily trying to remove the mushroom from Happy's head, until it is revealed to be Franmalth, who survived Hell's Core's explosion and used his Curse to keep himself alive by merging with Happy. At the same time, Makarov makes his way to the guild's basement, remembering Hades' words about "releasing the light". After this, we get Wendy waking up and having a heartfelt moment with Carla, where she also learns that Doranbolt saved them both, but he adds that their fight isn't over. The girls fly into the air and spot numerous Face bombs, which Doranbolt remarks numbers over 2,000, all as Mard Geer breaks free from his petrification. Wendy then cuts her hair short, cuz asymmetry. Minor spoiler-not spoiler, this means nothing later on. >_>
Cut to Erza vs. Minerva, where Minerva is seemingly overwhelming Erza by tactically using her magic the way it should've been used, but this is not enough, as Titania just dodges all of her attacks and punches her in the mouth. Love how Minerva's power boost is apparently not enough, but at least it is justified, as the anime adds filler to Minerva's past, better expanding on her abuse at the hands of her father and giving us a better grasp of her giant inferiority complex and inability to properly combat Erza. She gets punched again and is told that her fist is crying from this battle...
...anyway, Minerva begs Erza to kill her because she just doesn't want to live anymore, but Erza refuses, citing that Minerva has people that still care for her. At that moment, Mard Geer the Pimp arrives and tries to kill Minerva, but in the knick of time, she is saved...by Sting and Rogue, who have arrived to bring Minerva back to Saber! You guys have new outfits and Rogue, you look especially fine, desu~ http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/uu307/lanejae89/onion-chan/ycs058.gif But, Minerva remembers Erza's just prior words about having people that care for her and begins to cry.
This episode was better than its manga counterpart chapter(s). Despite Erza's flame pants-reking, people-giving corny speeches shit starting to become completely commonplace, 20 page limits seemed to be the death of Mashima. Good thing the anime carried him, otherwise this episode would've been absolutely terrible. The rest of this arc is amazing, except for one, arguably two parts to come, so enjoy this while you can. '-'
Score: 7.5/10 (It was 6.5, but Rogue gave it a +1 ;o)
This episode was flat out, all-around gud. To start, we get a little bit of a filler expansion on why Sting and Rogue were late: Erza's handwriting is money awful; and the Exceeds just freaking slam dunk her (this was canon), but x10 (the extra dunking was the filler :'D). Anyway, expanding on Wendy and Pedobolt's discovery last episode, the Twin Dragons reveal that they passed a literal fuck ton of Faces on the way to Magnolia, and Mard Geer reveals that the devices all number over 3,000 as opposed to 2,000 and that they will blow in an hour and destroy magic across the continent. Meanwhile, Team Awesome FT Members (yes, even Natsu, just cuz he wasn't a buzzkill during this part) is still getting their butts handed to them by the 3 Demon Gates left there, and, er, I guess Tempester can create sinkholes. I mean it makes sense; they are a real natural, dangerous phenomenon, but m'kay. >_>
Anywho, Mard Sexy tells them that Crawford is controlling the bombs after Minerva calls him out on his shit regarding the detonation, claiming that his corpse is being manipulated by their necromancer, Keyes. With that, the Twin Dragons make their Exceed partners go with Erza and Minerva to the control room while they combat Mard Geer, which I have to say was pretty epic (animation slightly derpy but idc). They then, in a fit of fucking epicness, when Mard Geer tells them that they he hates it when humans imitate real Dragon Slaying Mages (apparently, based on the translation, it's easier to understand that Dragon Slayer Magic is clearly just magic, not a curse or something else. He literally thought they weren't real Slayers and that they were just calling out "_____ Dragon's _____" for lulz. This was actually a big topic of debate back when the chapter was first released, hence why I'm mentioning it), immediately retort that they really hate it when people beat the shit out of their friends, referencing their treatment of Minerva.
Cut to Silver and Gray, where we finally get the reveal that Silver is indeed Gray's father (like nobody fucking figured it out. Gray is just a less lustery version of the color silver...), which makes Gray angrier faster than a girl gets turned on from finding her fun button, as his dad died right in front of him. Gray's every attempt to hurt Silver is repelled, and he cryptically states that he is indeed Gray's father, Silver Fullbuster, but that things are more complicated than that and that their destinies are entwined much deeper.
Now cut back to the fights! FT is still getting rekt by the 9DG, and Sting and Rogue are literally having their asses handed to them by Mard Swageer, who finally gets why Kyoka was so fascinated with human beings: they have no sense of their own impending doom; something which he finds absolutely fascinating.
Cue filler Minerva and Erza bickering about Minerva still demanding to die scenes, which was also nice, as in the manga, it looked she had about 3 180's in the course of a month. >_> More filler Exceed stuff inserts aside, Minerva walks up to Happy and notices the mushroom, rips it off of his head and explains that it's Franmalth, the Nine Demon Gate, and that he can lead them to the control room amidst the wreckage of Cube.
Back to Silver and Gray! They continue to fight but Gray just can't match him; Silver steadily reveals more information about himself: the body he's using is just a vessel he happened across, as being in a demonic form all the while is quite conspicuous. Reiterating that Tartaros, and by extension the 9DG, are all demons (hahahaha... hahaha... ...haha...( _ _)), Silver uses this as an explanation as to why he is in human form. Cue suspense building, as Silver says that he originally thought that using Silver's body was just a coincidence, but is now beginning to think that it is part of a greater fate. Suspense beginning to climax now, Gray wonders why Silver is telling him all this stuff, as he has no reason to actually hate him and desire so much to fight unlike him, who is angry at the desecration of his father's corpse. Silver immediately corrects Gray: he does know him; in fact, he was there when Ur sealed him in ice ten years ago. Yup, that's right, just like how Gray's eyes widened, so did ours as Silver reveals, incredulously, that he is the demon Deliora, and maliciously asks Gray if he truly has forgotten him. Gray can't believe this and asks all the questions for us, wondering how he survived after Iced Shell. The answer, ladies and gents, is Hell's Core: the regeneration facility! Gray still can't believe it, like us, but then Silver pushes him (and still us XD) over the deep end by asking Gray if he really wants to see the true form of the demon that killed his family.
Now we cut to Keyes, who seems to know more than he is letting on, and he tells Juvia that Gray's (the "young boy" in the title of the episode) story, which began on the day his family was slaughtered, is coming to a close, ending with the idea that Gray is going to choose the same fate as Ur.
Erm, yup. Powerful episode. Way more powerful than the manga equivalent chapters. Kudos to Bridge for keeping Rogue's new hair length consistent (Mashima couldn't do it for shit) and the very, very above-par animation. Double kudos to the voice acting team for making this so epic and suspenseful, and triple kudos to the OST. :D
Lastly, we arrive at this month's conclusion, and what a cliffhanger it brings us! But we'll get to that in a second. On with da article~
Gray is still rippin' pissed and tries to hurt Silver, but it's an epic backfire, as Silviora merely eats his ice per his Slayer Magic, which he states he learned solely to defeat Ur's disciples, who only know Ice Magic. At the same time, we get some context from Keyes as to why a wizard was allowed into a curse-filled guild of demons: Mard Geer willed it and it was so. Whether or not it was because he was powerful (Silver is actually, per Mashima's little volume 46 cards, the strongest member of the Nine Demon Gates) or because his magic was a deterrent to the other members of Tartaros. No on cares, really, cuz both are hold extreme merit and he's in there anyway.
Cue to snippet of Natsu getting owned by Tempester and his filler shit, which is nice, cuz I don't think we've seen Natsu struggle in a battle like this in awhile. Weird though, because Tempester is actually the overall wimp of the Demon Gates. Shows you that strength isn't really everything, huh? Anyway, Gajeel is still struggling against Torafuzar and his mad tough skin (gotta love the anime's foreshadowing. Again, I redirect you to the possible 20 page limit dragging Mashima down). During all of this, Lucy realizes that Tempester took down Laxus and the Raijins, and Juvia is mysteriously questioned by Keyes as to how she would react if Gray died, hated her, and something else I can't give a fig about, but either way, she says none of those things will happen, which interests Keyes greatly.
Back to Gray and Silver, Gray is getting his ass handed to him hardcore, with his ice being eaten again and used against him in the form of the Devil Slayer breath attack. Gray, however, wants to defeat Silver with his own hands and on the spot, crafts up a plan to get past Silver's ice immunity: use Ice-Make Cannon to fire Cube rubble at him, which works until Silver freezes the area and turns the rubble to ice. This doesn't deter our awkward tsundere hero, as he does the same thing he did to Doriate to Silver! Silver can't eat his own ice, so you'd think this would work, right?
Well...no. It doesn't work. Silver is immune to all ice, apparently, and although he was damaged it didn't have the effect Gray wished, even though he is apparently a demon. Then, insert filler Frosch trying to eat Franmalth shit, which was as adorable as it was funny, and we move to Wendy coming up with the idea to get Warren to use his Telepathy to contact all the guilds across the continent to help and destroy Face! Good idea in retrospect, Wendy. +1
The episode begins to wind down as we go back to Silver vs. Gray, where we get some awesome filler of Silver beating everything but the literal shit out of Gray, but Gray's immutable resolve kicks in (we see Silver crack a weak smile and his gaze soften here. It was very important, and we'll get to that momentarily), and he tells Gray that his words mean absolutely nothing to him. Gray then resolves to cast Iced Shell, and prepares to do so, which scares Silver in more ways than one (also getting to it), and he tries to stop Gray by freezing him, but Gray creates an afterimage and switches places with it (so Silver freezes existing ice, I guess), and then thinks to all of his comrades, especially Juvia, I noticed (Gruvia is strong in the anime; stronger than the manga until recently, anyway .-.) and he casts it, and here is where the anime makes it clear. In the manga, it appeared that Gray created a semi-sentient clone that cast the spell, but here we see that Gray cast a half-ass version that Silver managed to negate and redirect back at Gray, BUT he hits another ice clone! The real Gray shows up behind Silver with an iron ball (cue Panther Lily's discovery) that he fished out of the melted part of the ruins, which melted when he redirected the ice, and creates a vambrace with his Ice-Make. With the vambrace, he shoots that iron ball at Silver and it goes right through his chest. As Silver falls, he...cracks a smile. And then Gray tells Silver that his act was pretty terrible, and wondered if he thought he'd never figure it out. Yup, you got it right. Silver actually is Silver: Gray's supposedly dead father is alive!
Okay, gonna address some things now. In the manga, this reveal came out of nowhere, supposedly. In the anime, more things are making sense, and after watching this episode what I thought was stupid all of a sudden isn't stupid anymore, but I'll talk about that next month. Basically, what I can talk about without spoiling is Silver's soft smile to Gray about words not moving him. Lies. It was clearly a smile of pride; he was proud that his son had the resolve to face his fears. And the freaking out over Iced Shell? He didn't want his son to die, so he tried to freeze him, both with his ice and his son's redirected stuff. I loved this episode from start to finish. I don't know about others, but it wasn't as bad as the manga at all. It was amazing and I have come to love this part of Tartaros now (this was the possible 1 of 2 bad parts left in the Tartaros arc. Rip when we get to the actual, indisputable, terribad nonsense).
Well guys, that's it! The overall score for This Month in the Anime is a solid 8.5! I put my all into the article this month to make up for the now-4 months since I've done this. I hope you enjoyed, and obviously my ratings are my own opinions. I would love to hear what you guys have to say down in the comments. See you next month~
Yoooo~ it's that time of the month again. Welcome to another Coven! This month, we're going to talk about the guild's badass waitress...
I ADORE Mirajane's standard design. It's just so cute. Her white hair is a nice change compared to most females, who have ordinary hair colors. The ponytail at the top of her head is awesome, and her standard dress is plain but nice in its simplicity as well.
Though if I have to pick a favorite outfit it wouldn't be her standard one, but THIS:
Woops I'm sorry, I meant this:
I just find that the colors suit her more, I don't know.
What's important about Mirajane is that her design is very important to her characterisation. Her clothing choices come into direct contrast to younger Mira's, whose outfits were more revealing and gothic in style, presumably toned down after the "death" of her sister.
Also, I'm not sure if you guys have noticed, but except from the 180 personality and appearance change when Mira casts Satan Soul, her little ponytail is the only part of her hair that's down, contrary to it being the only part that's up in her usual outfit. See for yourselves:
Needless to say I could talk about Mira's design for ages, which goes to show how much Mashima paid attention to detail when it comes to that. Her appearance speaks without the character needing to open her mouth, which means one thing. SUCCESS!
Another area where I could probably keep talking for ages, but I'll keep it simple. As a child, when Mira was a demon slayer (I mean not ACTUAL Demon Slayer, but she did kill Demons), she was very silent, reserved and shy. Somehow though, after joining Fairy Tail, she became more playful, loud, and at times mean and obnoxious to those around her, but this all changed after Lisanna's "death", which is where she started concealing her grief behind her politeness and her smiles.
After Lisanna's return, I was so happy for Mirajane, despite most people being very disappointed that she didn't become like what she was in the past. In my opinion, that would be character regression and I'm actually glad she didn't go down that route. It may be subtle, but I think that while she kept her kind and sweet personality, she also retrieved the fun traits of her old persona; she became more confident, playful, and also began taking charge and started fighting again.
So while at times we have her like this
sometimes we also get this
or even this!
All in all, Mirajane is a very enjoyable presence, despite not appearing very often. If there's one thing I do not really like is that she's prone to sticking to the background just so other characters could shine; i.e. saying that Erza should become Master, despite herself being more fit for that position (in my opinion at least).
8/10 Very nice character journey!
I'm really conflicted when it comes to Mirajane's abilities. I think it's lost some of its spark, and when she's about to win me back, I end up disappointed again.
For all you Digimon lovers out there I think that the best way to phrase it is to say that Mirajane is the Patamon of Fairy Tail. What was so interesting about her was that she was the guild's trump card, and only released her powers when it was absolutely necessary, as opposed to Natsu, Erza and the like, who were always looking for a chance to fight.
That's also what made it so epic to see this:
For friggin' Mirajane to be forced to release her powers, you knew that shit would start to go down. And boy, it certainly did. Her fight against Freed in the Fighting Festival arc must be my favorite to date. The fight took place in the earth, in the sky, in the water, involved spells, punches, kicks, swords, and was really fast-paced. It was AWESOME.
But then, after Lisanna's return, Mirajane used Satan Soul more and more, and it came down to this:
In order for Mirajane's fights to be a challenge for her, Satan Soul's strength was severely dumbed down, to the point that a surprise punch coming from Elfman defeated Sayla, despite Mirajane's Satan Soul being unable to do so.
Then, Sitri was introduced and I thought it would be really epic in a fight, but frankly it was underwhelming. Did she even ever use a named spell in that form? I don't remember her doing so. Despite its reputation being the strongest Take Over Mirajane had at the time, it was really meh ( ._.)
The most powerful form for me to date must be an anime-only filler form, which is a shame, because THIS
put her standard Satan Soul to absolute shame, and also was faster than Racer himself.
I just think it would be way better if Mashima used Mirajane's Take Overs like Erza uses her armors; she's supposed to have more than 100 Demons iirc, so she should use a different one depending on the circumstances. Hell, even Elfman and Lisanna have used way more Take Over forms than she has!
Oh, she also knows Sleep Magic and Transformation Magic. And she manipulates Demon particles, which was cool in Tartaros, but may not come into handy again except if she could control E.N.D. which would be awesome but I doubt it.
All in all, while she began as my favorite to see in a fight, I think Mirajane slowly lost some of her spark due to dumbing down AND FRIGGIN' LISANNA GETTING IN THE WAY. I'm optimistic she may get better in Alvarez Empire arc, though, since she's supposed to have grown way stronger.
7/10 Not always utilized the right way
SIGNIFICANCE TO PLOT/ROLE IN THE MANGA
I think that Mirajane's original role in the manga was to be the soul of Fairy Tail; kind, sweet, helpful and optimistic. That's why she didn't have any other role in the guild, and why I think she would make a great Master. She was also Fairy Tail's trump card before the introduction of Gildarts.
After Edolas, though, she, like Erza and Laxus, became a "typical" S-Class Mage, a strong fighter who usually ends up fighting one of the strong opponents in each arc.
I don't think she'll have any kind of significance later on, as she is a side-character with no important connection to the main characters, but the fact that she can take over Demons and Zeref creates Demons just might make her somewhat relevant. We'll see.
5/10 Side character level of importance
All in all, Mira's character score is...7.5/10!!! This has her in second place, dangerously close to Ultear's score. While she lost major points in significance and powers, her design and characterisation kept her score very high.
Hello, everyone! Last month I featured Jellal and I created a poll to ask you guys' opinion on who I chose to portray him (Nathaniel Buzolic). I posted the results of that poll below. 31% of you thought it was a good choice. 39% of you thought it was okay. And 30% of you thought it was bad. My choice for Jellal got mixed reception. I figured as much. Let's hope my choice for Mavis gets better reception! :D To the 30% of you who didn't like my incredible choice... you can go fuck yourself. ಠ_ಠ
The person I picked to portray Mavis is an actress named Peyton List. It took me forever to find someone who I thought could play Mavis. Lolis are difficult to cast. Incredibly so, in fact. But I think Peyton could portray Mavis well enough. The problem with this, however, is that Mavis doesn't age... and Peyton does. >_> But, for the moment, I think they fit pretty well. Throw some unnaturally long extensions on Peyton and creepy pupiless contacts and she'd be Mavis' twin, lol. So, what do you guys think? Is she a good match for Mavis? Do you know an actress who'd fit better? If so tell me in the comments! ^__^ And if you don't think Peyton is a good choice, I'd really like to know why. And even if you do think she's a good choice, I'd like to know why in the comments. 'Til next time you guys!
Welcome back to Battle Arena. Last month, Kagura and Ikaruga battled to see which is the superior swordswoman and in a narrow vote of 9-8, Kagura edged Ikaruga out.

Two of the weaker females of Fairy Tail, both have grown significantly since their debut, but if the two were to duke it out, who would win?
Votes for Wendy Marvell
This is a tough choice, but honestly, I have to go with Wendy to the max. Lucy has very powerful spells in her arsenal, but from what we've seen, we don't know if any other Star Dresses allow her enough power to cast Urano Metria, as when she did cast it with the Aquarius version, she had her magic power forcibly enhanced by the CSK. The abilities we have seen grant her great physical strength, powerful magic and great ranged abilities, however, Wendy's ability to wantonly activate Dragon Force gives her the ability to exceed Lucy's speed, buff herself, and greatly increase her physical strength to match that of Ezel's, as well as boost her ranged powers very dramatically. Not saying she would stomp Lucy to the ground in seconds flat, but Wendy definitely has the advantage based on current in-series revelations and progressions.
I really wanted to say Lucy, as my peers make a great point about Lucy's growth as opposed to Wendy's occasional show of strength, but the series has made it a point that the Mages that use Summoning Magic are typically weaker themselves (physically), and if Dragon Force Wendy were to target Lucy directly, she could make quick work of her before Lucy could bust out her trump card (Urano Metria).
Everyone seems to be forgetting about the Avatar arc. Wendy can go dragon force at will. Lucy's main weakness is herself. She has spirits to guard her but Wendy's dragon force makes her fast, fast enough she can easily close the gap on Lucy and take her out. I have to go with Wendy this round.
This is a tough one. Before Wendy uses DF, then I'd say Lucy has the upper hand. Because while Wendy is strong, post-timeskip Lucy has gotten very versatile. Wendy can only use one type of Magic, while Lucy can use multiple. And in addition to summoning her spirits to fight, she can fight alongside them to overwhelm Wendy. However, since Wendy can use Dragon Force at will post-timeskip, Lucy's toast. :P
Votes for Lucy Heartfilia
I'm basing this from what we know so far, which is Wendy's DF was a one-time thing, with the air concentration being high at the time she achieved it. In that case, I've got to give it to Lucy. Wendy has not displayed any particular new skills after the 1-year timeskip, while Lucy worked on her weakness, which was being vulnerable when her spirits are not around. I just can't see Wendy being any threat to Lucy when she can summon 2-3 spirits(which was even before timeskip) AND utilize Star Dress at the same time. She would be overwhelmed.
Well...shit. It's a really difficult battle for either of them and I think it'd be awesome to actually watch but based on what I have heard regarding the two of them as of late, I think Lucy would now have a slight edge. A year ago, I'd have given it to Wendy but at this point, I keep seeing pictures of Lucy's Star Dresses and hearing about the powers they offer her. Due to this versatility and her ever-growing Magical capabilities (to the point that she summoned 3 spirits at once in the Tartarus arc) I think Lucy would be able to take this fight. Fighting Dragon Force Wendy would of course be a huge undertaking. Supposedly there was some list of FT girls according to strength but it's been a while so I'd say whatever it was, it's most likely not valid anymore.
Lucy hands down.

Politics blended with comedy is pretty popular. Why do you think that is?
A: Satire has been a thing since Aristophanes in ancient Greece, perhaps even before that. I guess that the more serious a topic is (i.e. politics or religion) the more prone people are to making fun of it, in order to not become depressed/overwhelmed/anxious when discussing it.
So, using the term the dude in the video used, do you think anyone on the wiki is liable to become a "sex maniac"?
A: The wiki's full of potential sex maniacs.
What do you think Wrath would do if porn were banned in his country?
A: I'm pretty sure Wrath would endure. He'd just go on with his day, no fucks given about the ban.
A: Conan O'Brian. He is fucking gold. I watch him almost every single night on TBS (which is basically a comedy/sports channel. Pretty sure it's subsidiary of CBS, a news/comedy network). He is very politically satirical, and has very interesting celebrities and bands on his show, like Imagine Dragons, Iron & Wine for the latter, and he's had the likes of Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, the cast of Big Bang Theory, Kat Dennings, etc. Basically he's hot shit.
What would it take for you to star in a porno (besides a hot co-star)?
A: I would never star in a porno. I do not have what it takes, but I do not condemn it, either. It takes a very good body image and high self-esteem to put your body out like that. I'm not fat by any means, but screw that, man.
What do you think Godisme would do if porn were banned in his country?
A: He would probably go crazy because he wouldn't be able to watch that J-Lo sex tape that's supposed to be coming out; he wouldn't be able to watch Mia Kalifa, either. Basically because he stinks at drawing, he'd be forced to draw dirty stick figures and just whack it to doodles on crinkled paper. =)
Are you gonna check out any of the sites mentioned by John Oliver in this video?
A: Lol, as tempting as that mature witch.com sounded... hell no. >_>
Have you ever considered doing porn? Even soft-core counts. No need to lie; we're all very open here.
A: If I was six feet tall, had a six pack, a 12 inch dick, and my family and friends were all dead? Sure. Other than that, hell no. Porn is something that's meant to be watched, not something you partake in, lol. I don't know, I just kind of feel like porn is for people who are a) sex maniacs or b) have had shitty upbringings. Not dissing porn actors/actresses, just not something I would ever make a conscious choice to do. ( .___.)
What do you think Ultra would do if porn were banned in his country?
A: Move to a new country. What any rational man with a working penis would do. :D
A: It actually came up on the news while I was at the office eating lunch in the cafeteria. I can't remember though whether it made me hungrier or less so.
Did anyone you know protest the porn ban?
A: I do have a friend who trash-talked the government on his Facebook page for this ban. His sister-in-law started chewing him out since she supported the government and he went and chewed back on the basis of free speech. It wasn't a protest per se, but it was amusing to read.
What do you think Umnei would do if porn were banned in his country?
A: He'd probably import some. I'll be he has special channels through which he can do so.
Well, what have we learned? Wrath is a Conan fan, God spends a lot of time on YouTube doing things other than masturbating (unless he's into John Oliver, in which case, whatever floats your boat, dude). Rai, I really wish I could leave India, but it will be a while before I can. Btw Raven, you'd better watch out cause Umnei is gonna come for you.
Once again, I really feel like I don't have to say anything because this art piece is beyond words, but I'll say a little anyway. I absolutely adore this piece. For the few of you who have been reading this magazine for a long time, you know that this is the second time in history that I've featured a cosplay picture for the art of the month. That alone should let you know just how good this is. Go check out the piece in all its glory by clicking here!!! And if you want to see more by this phenomenal artist, then please visit the artist's deviantart gallery. I give this piece a 10/10, and I highly recommend you guys check out more from this artist.

Interviewer: It's not a compliment!!
Which is your ideal honeymoon destination?
A: A place where joy abounds, where love is born, where time doesn't matter, where Magic happens. A place that's everywhere but nowhere. A place that's worth more than all the silver and gold in the world, but at the same time, worth absolutely nothing.
Interviewer: And where is this amazing place, might I ask?
A: Yeah I do! I make Whitney Houston sound like Prime! :P Though I gotta say, why the blue fuck am I being interviewed? >_>
Interviewer: Moving on.
Who will be the last of the Spriggan 12 to fall?
A: We haven't seen enough the entirety of the Spriggan 12 to make a fair assessment, imo. I don't doubt that Ajeel will be the first to fall though, but not to my Erza. Natsu vs. Ajeel is bound to happen. :D Now listen here you cracker bastard, answer me: WHY AM I HERE?! >__<
Interviewer: *Ahem* Again, moving on...
Why do you think God Serena betrayed Ishgar?
A: No, no more of these questions! I have a question for you, hoe! And don't dodge it this time!
Interviewer: Too late. Next question.
A: Hrrrrgh!!! >:(
What's the hardest thing you've ever done?
A: Well you see, I'm glad you asked that, because it gives me a chance to talk about my secret date with our very own Reli from years past...
Interviewer: Blegh, skipping...
A: And just when I was about to come clean about our relationship too... ;(
Reli: Rai, you keep this fucking shit to yourself you dumb motherfucker >_>
Which is your ideal honeymoon destination?
A: See, another good question. :D It would have to be-
A: OH MY GOD. WHY THE FUCK DID YOU STAB ME?!
Interviewer: Take a guess, bitch.
A: I've literally done nothing to you, slag. >__>
Interviewer: Don't be so sure. Do you remember when I said I loved God Serena?
A: Yeah, but-
Interviewer: Well you did my LUT job for him...
A: That's what this is about?!
Interviewer: Also you interviewed him for the mag before I could have a chance.
A: Of course, for singing while cleansing oneself prepares the body for another day!
Who will be the last of the Spriggan 12 to fall?
A: Unfortunately, it has come to such a war, but the last of the Spriggan 12 to fall would have to be that Brandish woman. She seems to be a force to be reckoned with...
Why do you think God Serena betrayed Ishgar?
A: I am uncertain, but the only way to find out is by interrogating the former Wizard Saint himself.
What's the hardest thing you've ever done?
A: The hardest thing.. was watching on as Toby Horhorta of Lamia Scale had lost his dear friend in front of his very eyes by the hand of that treacherous Raven Tail member..-! (Erza is talking about Toby's sock). I was helpless to do anything! for that, I hold deep shame within my heart. MY FIST IS CRYING.
Hey everyone! I bet you all are disappointed in me because I'm constantly being hindered from doing the ONE job I have here on the magazine. I bet you're all thinking, why is Umy even on the magazine? Well, to answer that question... Okay.
Anyways, to make sure this doesn't happen again, I'm going to work really hard for the next month little by little :D I hope you're all in for a treat~ P.S Please list your favorite character in the comments below. It may or may not be involved with next month's issue and if need be, we're going to do this Lottery Style :D
