So after two hours of fighting with Firefox to get it to stop checking for updates and yelling at Chrome to actually load a page, I finally have a a browser so I can bring you my reviews. The things I do for you people so you can hear my opinion...
Words. Words cannot express how terrible this chapter was.... But I'll try anyway :D Okay, gates are destroyed and Future Rogue has to go back, but the dragons are from the past and were brought to the present by the gates in the present. They should not be suddenly disappearing. The biggest piece of crap about this chapter is the dragon slayers though. We had 7 dragons and 7 dragon slayers. Logic would dictate we would see each dragon slayer fighting a dragon, right? Wrong, we saw a little bit of Wendy fighting Zirconis, Sting being chased by a dragon, Rogue looking all dumb and staring at a dragon, Laxus guarding some people, Gajeel wasnt even seen, Cobra jumped on a dragon and Natsu rode one. Thats it. We didnt see any fighting going on. I can understand if Mashima wanted to acknowledge that they are not strong enough to defeat a dragon, but AT LEAST SHOW THEM FIGHTING THE DRAGONS. There was nothing redeeming about this chapter. It was clear that Mashima just ran out of ideas and needed it to end quickly. No one even died! I proclaim this as the single worst chapter in Fairy Tail history
And here I was thinking that it would be hard to be worse than Bleach this week. Bleach wasn't bad per se. Just boring. There was nothing new really going on. I don't think there are any people out there who did not think Uryu was going to join the Vandenreich. However, I firmly believe he is only acting as a double agent, trying to take them down from the inside. Its not in his character to betray everyone like that. But yeah, the chapter felt like it was little more than Kubo trying to introduce all of the sternritter. The one interesting part of this chapter to me was Yhwach saying that Uryu is the "last Quincy alive" which seems to confirm my long held theory that these Quincy are not living but are rather souls of dead Quincy, likely many of the Quincy slaughtered 200 years ago. The fact tat Uryu has told Yhwach that he is the last Quincy and did not mention his father, to me says again that he is up to something and Ryuken may be in on it. Only time will tell.
I think its pretty clear that Bleach was the better chapter this week. Bleach may have been boring but it didnt ruin everything it had been building up to for months. This was a pathetic excuse for a chapter on Mashima's part. I can't believe he would just end things like that when he knows that fans have wanted to see actual dragons since the start of the series. Bleach didn't offer much but at the very least it is building to something.
Thats all for this week. As always, comments are very welcome, so comment away.
