Holy shit, early chapter. I got up and did other stuff this morning only to come home a few minutes ago and find the chapter was out.
Fan service \(_ _)/ Yeah, thats basically what this chapter was about. Also, congrats to Carrot, whose lineart was used in the fan art in the opening of the chapter :/. Surprisingly for once, it was less Lucy and more Erza fan service, which is always nice. But skipping past the 15 pages of fan service, the rest of the chapter was bland and uneventful. Walrod is.... dumb. Really, I don't like his character. The jokes were funny at first but now he has a complete inability to be serious, which bugs me. So then we have Taratarus, who it seems is in possession of the book of Zeref. Oh my god, the dark guild which we have already seen had a demon from the book of Zeref under their control, has the book of Zeref? Oh no, I never would have thought of this ಠ_ಠ. Yeah, that wasn't surprising. And that was basically the chapter. We really didn't learn anything new in this chapter and it was just fan service. Oh well.
Kang Du vs. Hitsugaya is kind of meh. Im tired of Hitsugaya and really tired of his Bankai, even if it is used by someone else. What I really liked about this chapter though was Urahara's explanation of how to get the Bankais back. The reason for this is because 1. It stuck true to canon in the series and 2 It explains why Ichigo's bankai cannot be taken. Quincies are Humans and early on in the series, we were told that the touch from a Hollow is like poison to a Human. In one chapter, you can see Sado's back after getting stepped on by a Hollow. He has a giant burn in he shape of the Hollow's foot. This also means we now know for sure why Ichigo's Bankai could not be stolen, due to the Hollow nature of his Zanpakuto. For once, Kubo didn't pull something out of his ass in this arc. So now we will see what comes next. With the Quincy unable to steal bankais any longer, will they be absolutely destroyed now or do they have another ace? Im curious as to what comes next as without stolen Bankai, the Quincy don't seem all that strong.
Hmm, fan service or plot development that brought back points from early in the series? I don't think I even need to explain.
As always, comments are very welcome, so comment away.
