I kind of completely forgot it was Friday today and have been up for like 2 hours but didnt read the chapter until now. Oh well.
So everyone is still realizing they saw the future and they are dealing with that. But meanwhile, Lucy comes around spouting the way to win even though Future Lucy said before she didn't know how to stop everything. Yet here we are and the journal has they key to winning in it. I suppose I wasn't thinking they were going to destroy the gates but doing so is kind of cheap. I wanted to see them actually fight the dragons but now it looks like all the dragons are going to disappear now that the gates are destroyed.
That fight against Future Rogue was also incredibly boring. Too much talking, too little action. And now it looks like this arc is done for so even less of a chance to see actual dragon slayers beating actual dragons. So much disappointment in this chapter. I suppose thats all I really have to say on it.
For once, Kubo actually took a second to try and explain away the massive plot hole that is Zangetsu not being Zangetsu. We have an explanation for several smaller things now such as how he stopped Ichigo's bleeding but we are still missing two crucial explanations, how Urahara's bankai training device pulled the Quincy powers out and why the Quincy powers looked younger when Ichigo entered Bankai. Give me these two explanations and I can accept this. One thing though is it seems that a consequence of all of this is an explanation of why Ichigo has a Hollow form that he can enter when none of the other Visored do. It seems as though because Zangetsu is made from the remnants of a Hollow, that that is the cause of it, leading me to believe it may be an ability of Zangetsu and something Ichigo could possibly control. As for Ichigo's new swords, eh, not really a fan. I can't imagine Ichigo using a dagger and a sword. His fighting style has always been two handed sword fighting even though he has been shown countless times that Zangetsu is meant to be used like a flail. Hopefully he can adapt but I predict more Getsuga spam in the upcoming future.
Bleach takes it this week. Fairy Tail was just a huge let down. I swear if we don't see each and every dragon slayer taking down a dragon, I am going to send a very sternly worded letter to Mashima! Bleach on the other hand at least made a small attempt to explain away the gigantic plot hole it opened up. I hope that Kubo is starting to realize that his habit of writing on the fly is causing problems but hell if he ever abandons it. Oh well, at least it wasn't a giant horrible disappointment this week like FT was.
So thats all for this week. As always, comments are very welcome, so comment away.
