Surname
Being the sister of Sherry shouldn't her surname be Shellia Blendi? --Bogota X 14:49, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
That would be an assumption as there are many ways they could be sisters and have different last names. We have to wait. And also, as someone else said below the translation might not even be that she is Sherry's sister. talk Garyness Janaury 21, 2012 (UTC)

In the manga it actually says that Shellia is Sherry's cousin. So... is someone going to fix that?

Because that stream site's translator can't translate. In the Japanese raw, Yuka said 従妹, which means younger female cousin, rather than 妹, which means younger sister. ChaosKnight 08:06, January 29, 2012 (UTC)

Cheria, Sheria, Chelia, or Shelia?
Her name, when translated to English, can be one of the name mentioned in the header, but definitely not Shellia with 2 "L". My question is that which one should we go with before the official name is out for her? ChaosKnight 07:27, January 29, 2012 (UTC)

Why is her name Sherria? The translation should come across as Chelia, right? Same goes for Sherry which should really be Cherry (personally though, I like Sherry just fine).
In Japanese, the pronunciation for the "Ch" syllable sounds like "Sh". It's like how they pronounce "l" as "r" or "v" as "b".
E.g: (I know a lot of people must know these already, but I just felt like putting this here anyway) Charles is pronounced as Sharuru (Carla's actual translated name) Lucy is pronounced as Rushi Viva is pronounced as Biba (Random word, but true)
Is this wiki following the English version of the manga's naming scheme or something? I'm not sure, I've never read that version to tell so...? 23.248.68.230 19:10, August 30, 2015 (UTC)
A) Yes, this is the Kodansha USA spelling of her name.
B) In English, Ch- does not make the "shh" sound, it makes the "chuh" sound. Chelia logically made no sense and if her cousin's name is Sherry, why we ever used Chelia as opposed to Sherria is beyond me. So saying that Sh in Japan is like Ch in English is incorrect.
C) The name is spelt and pronounced as Carla officially, because that is how Mashima recognizes it, regardless of the kanji. Something which he has admitted to.
D) Lucy is spelt as Rushi in Japanese because the letter L does not exist in their vocabulary.

- Wait, I thought it really was Charle/Charles? On her page it said that Mashima had taken her name from a princess: "I think it was the name of a princess from a book that I have read a long time ago. However, in the West, there are a lot of countries in which the Charle is a masculine name, thus in some countries her name may be different". Even so though, Carla is also correct I suppose.
Whatever it may be, I prefer to call her Charles/Charle anyway, reading the old translations made made me call her that when she and Wendy first appeared (I think it was around that time). 101bijou (talk) 02:47, August 31, 2015 (UTC)
