Hey you guys, I wasn't really paying much attention to these silly episodes, but I am wondering if it has ever been stated that Nico is of the Canis Minor breed?? Or if "his" gender has ever been stated. Because it has been put that he is male and the Nikora key can summon him, yet unless this has actually been stated it should be removed. Can anyone confirm this?
Oh, and if you feel tempted to say "Well Carrot, it looks exactly like Plue", I heard a very interesting point somewhere that it could be a Canis Major Spirit...
Anyways, can anyone confirm please??

I think it's reasonable to assume that it's a Nikora spirit. "Nico" could be short for Nikora.

Firstly, what is this "Canis Major" nonsense? I don't watch the anime so I wouldn't know. Secondly, I think he should be classified as a Nikora Spirit. We've already seen that they can come in different sizes and shapes so I think it would be foolish not to classify him as such unless there is something I'm missing, which is very possible since I don't watch the anime. ✦Rai✦ ✦Talk✦ 16:26,8/5/2012

Okay, let me get this straight. A new character appears in the anime who is holding (no, she never summoned him and no keys were shown) this green Plue-thingy called Nico. From only this information it was stated on the article that the Spirit is Canis Minor, aka Nikora, aka same as Plue. As obvious as it may be, until it is openly stated that that Spirit is a Nikora it is speculation. The point I was trying to make with the Canis Major stuff is that there are many different types of Spirits. We can't just generalise because they appear similar. I know it may seem obvious but we have done this heaps with the manga (eg. Orga a God Slayer, which dragon taught Sting/Rogue) where we don't add any speculation until sure. I don't see why we are allowed to do so with the anime. I also don't see why it is so hard to wait a mere week to see if any additional info is given. But whatever...

As I said in my post, I think it'd be foolish not to classify him as such "unless there is something I'm missing." I also said in my post that I do not watch the anime so it is very possible that I'm missing something. It's not a matter of not wanting to wait. I just didn't want to wait and not ever get an answer. Because frankly, not every detail that isn't shown immediately is revisited and I didn't want us classifying him as an unknown spirit if it was obvious that he was a Nikora spirit. To be completely fair, when we saw a group shot of numerous Nikora's in the manga, there was more than one with the same pattern as Nico. Other than the lack of colour that the manga provides, I think it's safe to assume it's a Nikora as only Nikora's have such noses. Will (talk) 10:31, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

well he might appear again sometime in the grand magic games arc as an anime exclusive appearance but he might apear at the end of the arc along with caelum if somehow the anti-link wore off and they got their magic back but thats a guess besides there's a nikora that has a similar pattern to him in the GMG arc Animaltamer7
