I dont think they should be given the english names, i mean i know they say that thats what he wants to call them. but manga mess up the names all the time, and the name is can be pronounced different ways (ミスト・ガン Misuto Gan) if you do it phonetically its mystogan, but it can also be Mist Gun, Mistgan, or Mystogun. so you cant really say that's what they mean

If we're going by what's most common, shouldn't this article called 'Mistgun' instead of 'Mist Gun'? 'Mistgun' is more commonly used in the scantalations. Dalyup! 00:04, 7 April 2009 (UTC).
I've only ever seen Mist Gun used. Do a google search and you will see that Mist Gun is actually the most popular one. Drunk Samurai 09:50, 7 April 2009 (UTC).
I meant in the scantlations. They now more commonly use Mistgun; for example, there's a chapter called it. The translations in scantalations most often affect the fan community, after all. I did a google search of 'Mist Gun fairy tail' and most of the results that show up are from forum threads last year. Whilst when I did a google search of 'Mistgun fairy tail' most of the threads I got were from this year... Dalyup! 10:52, 7 April 2009 (UTC).
Are you going to respond or what? If not, I'll just change this page to 'Mistgun' tomorrow. Dalyup! 12:08, 10 April 2009 (UTC).
Then I will change it back. Mist Gun is much more common. Drunk Samurai 03:46, 11 April 2009 (UTC).
Lolwut? Much more common? So what about in recent chapters, where's it Mistgun, here, here, here, here, here, and here. Even in fan forums it goes from Mist Gun to Mistgun the same way as Jubia went to Lluvia, such as in these forums where most people use Mistgun, here. here or here. Regardless, hardly anyone puts a space in his name. I don't mind reverting your reverts either. Dalyup! 19:39, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Run the google search again and you will see which one is still more common. It doesn't matter when the threads were made. It only matters which one is much more common. Drunk Samurai 20:07, 11 April 2009 (UTC).
Why do we need to keep bringing this up? i call him Mist Gun in accordance with the characters in his name, and the chapter is called Mistgun probably because of a formatting error it occurs a lot in onemanga, who cares! its a name, just redirect it all two Mist Gun of you want a compromise Umibouzu 02:34, 12 April 2009 (UTC).
Meh, I'll just leave it at that. Clearly nothing I do appears to help my cause. On a different note: are either of you sysops? Dalyup! 14:34, 12 April 2009 (UTC).
Actually, there's an error on the page itself. I don't think Mist Gun is right--there's not supposed to be an interpunct inbetween "Misuto" and "Gan". They're just one word together. "Mystogan" is apparently the offical name by Mashima-sensei. I think the creator probably knows how to spell his characters' names better than cnet128.-Mr. Toto 14:04, 12 June 2009 (UTC).
All we know is that he can use Sleep, Illusion and His Fivefold Array magic, nothing says that he can use Wind Magic, The Wiki isnt made to hold speculation, its for facts -Umi.
Someone brought up his teleportation thing, but I never bothered looking into it. It could be "mist," for all we know, considering his name. - Baithin
Please can we not add the Wind/Mist thing, just cause it looks like something doesnt make it Wind Magic, for all we know it can be teleportation, or some kind of illusion magic, otherwise its still speculation until we get him saying he uses it, of a guild card, we cant be sure -UMI.
I was wondering since he is from Edoras does the magic come from the staffs since they are always used for his magic -Maxman.
Most likely from his staffs, but until he confirms it, it could be that he's born with magic power...ChaosKnight 04:07, July 8, 2010 (UTC).
Showing Mystogan's face in the first picture on the page is a bit of a spoiler. If you think about it, if someone hadn't seen the Fairy Tail Fighting Festival Arc and saw Jellal when they looked up this Mystogan page they'd be like: "WTF?! Is that Siegrain?". Yes I know you get what you deserve by looking at wiki but there should be some kind of way to keep the spoilers down. I think It would be a good start by changing the picture to a masked Mystogan and getting rid of "Jellal's Edolas Counterpart" spoiler in the discription. Greenlikeblue 09:15, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
Shouldn't we change Mystogan's profile pic to one where he is wearing his mask? Its kinda a spoiler if anyone doesn't know that yet and checked his page. Nekomander 01:07, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
No, wikis are a plethora of spoilers, and Mystogan changed his appearance so we use that profile pic that includes the change. Iam...JakuhoRaikoben 01:11,5/9/2011
Not really. They didn't exactly team up and perform anima's reversal. It's more like Mystogan help recovered Pantherlily and included him in his grand plan. ChaosKnight-{E-mail} 04:18, June 26, 2011 (UTC)
Although the man behind Mystogan's identity left Fairy Tail, the Mystogan character hasn't officially resigned from Fairy Tail, allowing the current Jellal to take up the role in the most current tournament arcs. Should a 'legacy' section be placed somewhere, along with a note in his status in Fairy Tail? Sera404 05:47, March 25, 2012 (UTC)
Since there was no objection for over three months, I wrote a small "legacy" section with a main link to Jellal's role as Mystogan. Sera404 19:45, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, I didn't see this discussion. Generally if no one replies, they haven't noticed. I removed it because it's not something that is necessary, nor is it something that we do on this site. Thanks though. :) ✦Rai✦✦Talk✦19:48,7/6/2012
i never see mystogan uses his sleep magic with his stave, or there is? if none then the sleep magic is not a spell from his stave
--Monterico (talk) 12:29, February 12, 2013 (UTC)
Mystogan is a person from Edolas so therefore, he does shouldn't possess magic and he needs an item to do the magic... which then leads to my question...
Does Mystogan really know magic? Because It was shown that he do hand gestures to actually CAST an attack. I thought items can just be used casually like using a flamethrower (as an example)
Okay, I was thinking we add a masked section to Mystogan's profile pic, since that is how he was first introduced, and a big factor that separates him from Jellal (besides being from Edolas and all that). We still keep the current profile pic, but have it in a unmasked section, while we have the masked version under the masked section of the profile picture. Its exactly like the Pre-Timeskip, Post-Timeskip pictures of the other characters, but it only has to do with Mystogan's masked and unmasked appearance. What do you guys think? DarkErigor (talk) 02:39, April 1, 2013 (UTC)
Well, his masked face is shown in the appearance section, so it doesn't really matter one way or the other. Wrath-kun 03:15, April 1, 2013 (UTC)
Mystogan (Jellal) has just turned up in the Grand Magic Games arc to help out Erza (ch 331). His character page needs updating! LCGM (talk) 3:54PM, May 22, 2013
No, that's not Mystogan but a disguised Jellal Fernandes, and therefore, won't be added to Mystogan's page. 3:56PM, May 22, 2013
