"May the divine protection of the stars watch over you!" has been chosen as the new quote.
Please do not edit this discussion.

I would like to open a discussion concerning the quote on the top of his page. I think that he has better quotes and that the current quote is not really about him.

Current Quote: "Even after this, if you still feel compelled to atone for your sin, then I command you to become a pillar for your friend and live on. Those are the type of friends who have the most significance. There is much nobility in being willing to lay it all on the line to protect someone."

Proposed Quote 1: "Old friend, we will always be with you." (Chapter 262, Page 17)

Proposed Quote 2: "May the divine protection of the stars watch over you!" (Chapter 262, Page 18)

I think that the length of the quote doesn't necessarily mean that it's better and I would like to vote for the second proposition. It seems to be more suited to his character. Xione 09:50, May 11, 2012 (UTC)

Slowing Magic.[]

The article currently cites Chapter 74 pages 7, pages 8, and pages 18 as evidence for the Celestial Spirit King being able to use Slowing Magic. This is false and nowhere on the multiple english scanlations found throughout the internet is there even a mention of this in chapter 74. I've also checked the chinese translations and they mention no such thing. In fact, I've checked every single reference given below in the links. It still says no such thing on any of the links cited

- So either this ability was mentioned in the anime, and therefore should be appropriately cited and claimed as such...Or (I suspect this is the case) someone simply made it up. In light of the fact that a simple reference check from the very source it sites can prove the claim to be demonstrably false, I propose the article to be changed to reflect his abilities on things we can prove and site. (Ergo Nil (talk) 07:25, March 31, 2013 (UTC))

That should have reference to the anime since only in the anime did it happen (it was when Loke's glasses stopped mid-air when the CSK appeared and then they kept falling once the king disappeared) RelikzTalk PageTalk 21:38, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Then it should be properly cited as such, and a disclaimer should be made with something like the an (anime only) tag. Furthermore, this ability shouldn't be grouped under Racer's slowing magic. As far as we know, Racer's magic worked in a very specific manner and there is no indication that the Celestial Spirit King's time manipulating abilities works in the same way. The description of his powers also proves inaccurate. "Start and restart the flow of time" suggests that he can restart the flow of time from scratch and reverse everything - This gives a very exaggerated idea of his abilities compared to what was really shown. A more accurate description of his powers would be something like; Time Manipulation - He has the ability to pause the flow of time indefinitely, as shown when he stops Loke's glasses from falling to the ground when he made his appearance (anime only)." (Ergo Nil (talk) 22:16, March 31, 2013 (UTC))

As far as Magic goes, I think you should bring this issue up onto the appropriate talk page, which is Slowing Magic's talk page. In addition, there is nothing holding you back from making an edit here on our wiki.

There is no need to start making new random Magic just because the details of what the King can do hasn't been explored. Pausing time can fall under Slowing Magic so we should have it categorized as such. If we start creating new random Magics just because the details of unnamed Magics might be different, we'd have to create a bunch of new Magics for each of the Darkness Magic users just cuz they have different colors, or different magics for Water magic simply cuz they are not all produced the same way, etc. the point is that it's unnamed Magic that seems to produce the same effects, so we have it categorized as the same. Also we don't add (anime only) anymore. if we want to let readers know something is anime only, then the particular sentence/paragraph/whatever has an anime reference. RelikzTalk PageTalk 22:54, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Racer's ability was specifically stated only to slow the perception of time for others so that he appears to be moving faster than others. Anyone outside of this reference zone is unaffected, and even people within the reference zone can see the things outside of the reference zone move faster than normal. This is different from what the Celestial Spirit seems to be doing which is slowing time altogether. Furthermore, the CSK's magic doesn't isn't shown to work on humans or otherwise living things either, so why not classify it as Arc of Time then? It's a more accurate description, and in my opinion just as valid if we're grouping it based off the lack of concrete evidence. The fact of the matter is the Celestial King's time manipulating abilities is undefined, and should be classified as such. Racer's slowing magic, however, works in a very specific way which has specific implications. Perhaps I can make a proposal? We can have a branch of magic called Time Magic; Under that umbrella-term we can have Arc of Time, Racer's Slowing Magic, and the Celestial King's ability of stopping time (perhaps named Time-Stoppage)? - In any case, do I have a green light to change the references and description of the abilities, even if we don't have a consensus on the ability name?

yeah, you can change the ref and the description, but for now let's keep the name. Also, now I think that it's not even time that is stopping. As you can see in both the anime and manga, the water from the waterfall and the lake started going UP. So maybe what the King can do is not stop time, but manipulate gravity, which can also explain why Loke's glasses stopped mid-air. RelikzTalk PageTalk 01:35, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Expert swordsmanship?[]

I was wondering about the Spirit King's "Magic and Abilities" section. Should it include "expert swordsmanship specialist"? He's certainly no slouch with that thing.

Wondering about that too; still, remember to sign your posts, please.

I think an expert swordsman would suffice.

Support Support - I doubt that hes just a beginner when it comes to using a sword and its a bit speculation if we say hes a master of it, so i'd say hes an expert. LightningGeistRead about Laxus? 06:00, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

Big brute or magic brute?[]

Physical attack.

It's as simple as that: should this be considered a magically enhanced attack or a purely physical one? The blast smelled like Magic, but afterwards there was no sign of sparks or stuff around the blade. For all we know it could simply be the Celestial Gramps being a frickin' beast with his swings. Ideas?

Water Magic[]

We have seen the CSK manipulate water. He used it to form his body thus in his power section Water magic should be added. It happened in chapter 74 for reference.

--KnocknickKnock (talk) 05:30, April 3, 2016 (UTC)KnocknickKnock

He made the water flow upwards for some reason, maybe to create a nice backdrop or to hide his presence to everyone else except Lucy and Loke, but it didn't form his body. Considering how he also halted Loke's glasses in mid-air, he most likely used Gravity Magic, but since we have no sure confirmation it isn't added to his magic and ability section. NoNickNeeded (talk) 06:56, April 3, 2016 (UTC)

In chapter 74 it actually shows the water forming his head. There is a legit panel showing this. --KnocknickKnock (talk) 16:48, April 3, 2016 (UTC)KnocknickKnock

Highly speculative Miskos3 Message 16:50, April 3, 2016 (UTC)

Actually it isn't. There is actual proof of it happening. Did you guys even look at the page?--KnocknickKnock (talk) 20:02, April 3, 2016 (UTC)KnocknickKnock

Yes. He's literally crossing from his own world to a human world in that page, the water is from the nearby waterfall. Miskos3 Message 20:08, April 3, 2016 (UTC)
