Natsu Dragion (ナツ・ドラギオン Natsu Doragion) is a member of the Edolas Fairy Tail Guild. He is the Edolas counterpart of Natsu Dragneel.

AppearanceEdit

Natsu is a well-built man of average height. He has spiky pink hair protruding in all directions. He wears maroon-colored goggles which he often places on his head. His attire consists of a red leather jacket with a white trim located on the sides of his collar and its suspender area. White arm straps are located on the area of his biceps. His jacket also has a belt strap where a white belt is left hanging. In addition, the wrist areas of his sleeves are endowed with fiery designs. He wears blue navy pants with a belt strap where a white belt is seen. He is also seen wearing brown shoes.^[2][3]

PersonalityEdit

Whilst in a vehicle, Natsu has shown himself to be highly arrogant, condescending, and, in general, rude, as seen when he took pride in being the fastest man in the Edolas Fairy Tail Guild, and when be chided his Earth Land counterpart for being motion sick.^[4] When forced outside a vehicle, however, Natsu's personality undergoes a drastic change: his condescending and rude mannerisms all but disappear, instead being replaced with apologetic cowardice (which he displays upon being so little as spoken to) and extreme politeness, as seen when he began referring to all that were present with the honorific "-san". Also, he appears to be quite frightened of Lucy Ashley, as when Lucy Heartfilia spoke to him, he cowered behind a rock.^[5]

SynopsisEdit

Edolas arcEdit

Just when Earth Land Natsu, Lucy, and Wendy were about to be captured by the Royal Army, Natsu Dragion shows up in his Magic four-wheeler to save the group from being captured. Revealing that he heard everything from Lucy Ashley, he tells the group to get in his vehicle and, in a matter of moments, the group escapes the clutches of the Royal Army. Upon reaching the wilderness, where they were far away from the Royal Army, Natsu reveals to the group that he is the fastest man in Fairy Tail, nicknamed Natsu the Fireball, much to the group's surprise.^[6]

He drives the group to the Capital and turns to leave, telling the group to not get them involved if they are planning to oppose the kingdom. His Earth Land counterpart pulls Natsu off his vehicle, causing his personality to change, much to the group's surprise. He begins to add "-san" to the names of the Fairy Tail Mages and begins to cower and cry when the group talks to him in loud voices. Natsu watches the group leave and marvels at his Earth Land counterpart's insane courage.^[7] On his way back to the Guild, Natsu picks up Lucy Ashley and tells her that he wasn't able to refill the vehicle's Lacrima. He later gets tortured by her after he calls her a big softy.^[8]

Just as Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster and Coco were about to be defeated by the Royal Army, Natsu Dragion, with the rest of his guild, arrives and fights the Royal Army.^[9] The fight, however, did not last long as Magic was being removed by Mystogan and his plan. Natsu begins to panic and collapses, thinking that although they may have won the battle, they were defeated by the world.^[10] Before being sent back to Earth Land, Gray cheers up the Edolas Fairy Tail Guild by telling them that they don't need Magic to be a Guild, they only need their comrades.^[11]

After Mystogan starts leading Edolas, Natsu discusses with his comrades the issues relating to their guild and what they will do now that there is no more magic.^[12]

Former Magic and AbilitiesEdit

Magic Sword: In the battle against the Edolas Royal Army, Dragion was wielding an unnamed, Magical sword featuring a swirled, striped ornament connecting the handguard and the center of the blade.^[13]

Magic Boomerang: In the anime, Dragion used a plain, gray boomerang as a weapon in battle instead of a sword. The boomerang has the ability to alter its shape, as Dragion was seen initiating the battle with the boomerang fitting into both his hands while during battle, it was seen as a sizable form.^{[14] [15]}

Magical Vehicle Specialist: Natsu Dragion possessed the ability to operate a Magical vehicle with relative ease. Dragion has a completely different view on transportation in comparison to his Earthland counterpart, Natsu Dragneel, where Dragion is a specialist in transportation while Dragneel suffers from extreme motion sickness.^[16]

Lucy Ashley Main article: Lucy Ashley Natsu Dragion and Lucy Ashley have a close relationship, one in which Lucy Ashley is completely dominant. Due to his timid personality, Lucy Ashley has no trouble overpowering Nastu Dragion with her strong and tomboyish personality, and is often seen testing out her new fighting moves on him and getting him to beg for mercy. However, she also cares for his safety, stating that she was worried when he was away from the guild for an extended period of time.[17] Despite Lucy Ashley's violent actions seeming to be something that would throw the relationship off, Natsu Dragion is seen to respect her, to the point where he agrees to undertake jobs for her and fight alongside her against the Edolas Royal Army.[18] Natsu Dragneel Main article: Natsu Dragneel During their first encounter, the cocky Natsu Dragion laughed at his Earth Land counterpart's motion sickness and referred to him as pathetic, finding it hard to believe that such a person could really be another world's version of him given that he was a specialist in transportation.[19] After transporting the Earth Land Mages as far as his Magic limits allowed, Natsu was quick to ask them to exit his car, which Natsu Dragneel eagerly did and received a compliment from Natsu Dragion for it. After kicking everyone else out, Natsu himself was eventually dragged out of his car by the Earth Land Mage, who demanded to know how he could handle transportation. As is his personality off his vehicle, Natsu began to cry in the face of the Earth Land Mage, tearfully saying he didn't know.[20] Off his vehicle, Natsu's personality goes from rude and obnoxious to polite. He addresses his Earth Land counterpart as "Me-san", as well as addressing the other Mages in the same way. Even after seeing they were different from the people he was afraid of, Natsu still had a reserved attitude about them, as seen when the Fire Dragon Slayer enthusiastically joked with him about what he was doing, for which he unnecessarily apologized out of fear.[21] When the Mages finally rushed off to fight, Natsu was simply met with a smile when told them they couldn't win.[22] Lucy Heartfilia Main article: Lucy Heartfilia Due to Natsu Dragion's double personality conditioned by his stay or not of vehicles, he treated Lucy Heartfilia as nothing but a passenger inside his car, while off it, he was as afraid of her as he is of his Guildmate Lucy Ashley. Called by Lucy Ashley, Natsu Dragion saved Lucy's group from a horde of Edolas' Royal Soldiers, an act that made Lucy very glad.[23] After finding out whose counterpart he was, however, Lucy got shocked by seeing a version of Natsu driving a vehicle, while the usual one couldn't even stand on one. Natsu Dragion also showed a more confident and cold personality, suddenly stopping his vehicle and telling everyone to get off, as it was the farthest he could go, much to Lucy's shock and dismay. Not leaving the car, Lucy was thrown out by Natsu without regrets.[24] When Natsu got off of his car, however, he showed his personality out of the vehicle, making his previous in-vehicle's actions to be overlooked. While in this state, Natsu was extremely scared of Lucy, as she remembered her violent countepart with whom Natsu was used to, apologizing without apparent reason and acting subservient to her.[25]
