Millianna (ミリアーナ Miriāna) is one of Erza Scarlet's childhood friends from their days as slaves at the Tower of Heaven, having additionally worked as one of Jellal's minions for a time. She is currently a Mage of the all-female guild - Mermaid Heel.

Appearance Edit

Millianna is a woman of average height with a curvaceous figure. Millianna is also noted for her cat-like appearance: possessing cat-like eyes, nose, and mouth. Her brown hair is stylized into cat ears at her crown and tied into two ponytails at the base.^[1] Her face has four whisker-like tattoos. She wears a yellow jacket with white stripes and black trimmings. Millianna also wears a pink dress with a white bow tie on it and light-pinkish ruffles on the lower portion, a choker with a bell on it, and white leggings.^[2]

After 7 years, Millianna has arranged her hair in a messy way, losing the ponytails though still keeping her hair stylized like cat ears. She retains her cat-like appearance still wearing a choker with a bell attached unto it. Her attire consists of a hooded cape, long striped leggings, evening gloves, tight and small shorts with a belt and boots. She seems to have no upper attire revealing her bikini top uncovered.^[3] She also has a tail attached to her shorts.^[4] Her Mermaid Heel tattoo is placed on her back, on the left midsection.^[5]

PersonalityEdit

Millianna is a very cheerful, peppy person. She has a great love for cats,^[6] and refuses to see them harmed in any way.^[7] She also tries to mimic a cat, from dressing up like one to meowing.^[6] Millianna is close with the rest of her friends, and was very apologetic towards Erza after the events at the Tower of Heaven.^[8]

However, after her reappearance after 7 years, she plans to seek revenge on Jellal Fernandes for making her help build the Tower of Heaven as well as killing Simon. In order to further her goal, she joined Mermaid Heel where another Mage who hated Jellal resided.^[9]

HistoryEdit

Millianna was among the children who were taken from their homes and forced to build the R-System, aka the Tower of Heaven. It was there that she made friends with Erza, Jellal, Wally, Shô and Simon, and together they weathered the cruel "motivation methods" of their captors.^[10] One day, Erza decided it was time to fight back and inspired the other slaves to stage a revolt.^[11] Despite some sacrifices, the slaves were successful and were able to leave the island for good.^[12] But Jellal, now being controlled by Zeref, destroyed the ship leading off the island and claimed it was Erza's doing to convince Millianna and her friends to stay and finish the tower.^[13] After eight years, the tower was finished.^[14]

SynopsisEdit

Tower of Heaven arcEdit

Millianna first appears at the casino where Team Natsu is currently vacationing, where she ambushes Lucy, tying her with her rope and having it tighten around Lucy every few seconds. She then regroups with the others as they kidnap Erza (and Happy) and together they set off to the Tower of Heaven.^[15]

Later, when Natsu's group invades the tower, she fights against Natsu alongside Wally in her room. At first, she is unwilling to attack him since he is wearing a cat mask, but after Wally convinces her that Natsu is the enemy, they double team him and manage to gain the advantage. Happy saves Natsu before Wally can kill the Dragon Slayer, however, and his presence causes Millianna to hamper Wally's attacks. A final cuteness attack by Natsu distracts her enough to loosen her rope around him, and this allows Natsu to knock both of them out.^[16]

Later, at the insistence of Simon, she and Wally carry Lucy and Juvia out, then along with Shô, Happy and Gray, they leave the island just as the Etherion comes crashing down on the tower.^[17] The group can do nothing but watch from afar as a series of tumultuous events unfold, not the least being Natsu and Jellal's destructive battle.^[18]

Afterwards, Millianna reconciles with Erza and apologizes for her actions, all while mourning Simon's demise. Erza invites the group to join Fairy Tail,^[19] but while they consider it at first, they stow away the night they're supposed to head back, still feeling ashamed of what they've done. Erza finds out but doesn't stop them, and allows them to go. However, this is not before giving her friends a grand sendoff with fireworks as a way of showing that they'll always be friends.^[20]

Fighting Festival arcEdit

Millianna along with Shô and Wally watches Erza's dance on Fantasia Parade.^[21]

Grand Magic Games arcEdit

Millianna is one of the five team members representing Mermaid Heel in the Grand Magic Games, though she enters under a cape to hide her identity.^[3]

She is seen wishing Kagura good luck before her match with Yukino. After Yukino mentions betting their lives in their match, Millianna is a little worried about whether Kagura will be okay. Though when the fight starts, Kagura easily gets an advantage and she says that the moment Kagura draws her sword will be cataclysmic.^[22]

After the second day ends she decides to reveal herself to Erza and they immediately hug once seeing each other again after so long. Later they sit and have a chat. She mentions that Kagura is strong and how there is a chance that she may be stronger than Erza if she ever gets serious. She then reveals the reason behind the name of Kagura's sword and the real reason she decided to join Mermaid Heel. She says that like Kagura, she hates Jellal due to him making her a slave and his killing of Simon, stating that it is unforgivable.^[23]

On the third day of the Grand Magic Games, Kagura allows Millianna to represent Mermaid Heel for the day's event. Erza competes too, and Millianna tells her to not lose. The event, Pandemonium, consists on defeating monsters of different levels to earn points and progress, which Millianna associates to a counting game. However, the event is finished by Erza alone, which amazes the entire audience.^[24]

After Erza has been awarded 10 points, it is announced that the rest of the contestants will be ranked by "MPF". As Mato states that the order will be based upon the order they got in the Pandemonium, Millianna moves forward and attacks the MPF machine with Kitten Blast, gaining 365 as her score. Being the first, the judges say they don't know if it is good or not because they have nothing to compare it to, but Lahar states that a score such as Millianna's would give her place as a squad captain in the Rune Knights.^[25] Millianna's score stays in first place, beating Nobarly, Hibiki and Obra. By the end, she comes in 5th place, earning her guild 3 points in this portion.^[26]

As the third day's battle portion starts, Millianna is chosen to fight against Team Quatro Puppy's Semmes, defeating him easily with her Magic.^[27] As the third day's battles come to an end, Millianna walks around Domus Flau with her teammates. She, alongside Risley, calls for help when Kagura falls to the ground. Millianna sees Jellal and feels the urge to attack him. However, before she can do anything, Kagura grabs her hand and tells her that she is fine now. Millianna tries to explain that Jellal is located a few steps away from them. Kagura informs her that she is well aware of his presence. Before they leave, Millianna questions why is Jellal staying in Fairy Tail.^[28] Later that day, Millianna looks out the window whilst thinking about what happened earlier.^[29]

After the fourth day's Naval Battle event, Millianna learns that her team will be facing off against Team Lamia Scale for the day's Tag Battle, and watches alongside Kagura as the new Team Fairy Tail, a combination of the A and B teams, steps out to compete as well.^[30][31]

During the battle portions of the fourth day, Millianna and Kagura face off against Lyon Vastia and Yuka Suzuki of Team Lamia Scale. As the battle time passes 30 minutes, the match is declared a draw and both teams are awarded 5 points. Millianna asks Kagura if she is OK, to which the answer is affirmative. Upon being told that had the battle been to the death, she'd have died, Millianna vows to get stronger, upon Kagura's words.^[32]

Upon Natsu Dragneel being declared the winner in his battle against Sting Eucliffe and Rogue Cheney of Team Sabertooth, Millianna stands alongside Kagura watching as the announcements for the fifth and final day are made.^[33]

As the final day of the Grand Magic Games begins, the teams and their current positions are announced by the three announcers as the viewers cheer and welcome them. Standing in third place, Millianna enters the Domus Flau with her teammates, ready to compete.^[34] As the announcers explain the rules, Millianna listens with the rest of her team.^[35] Upon the start of the games, the teams go their separate ways and encounter members of other teams. Millianna soon encounters Rocker of Team Quatro Puppy and earns her team 1 point by defeating him.^[36]

At one point during the event, Millianna is captured by Minerva and trapped in a bubble-like formation due to the latter's Magic. She is eventually presented before Erza and Kagura as a hostage. While trapped inside, Millianna's Magical Energy is slowly being absorbed causing her to struggle with pain.^[37] Still trapped by Minerva, Millianna is then taken away from the battle after Minerva forced Kagura and Erza to battle each other before herself.^[38] However, a now-unconscious Millianna is released after Minerva stabs Kagura for losing to Erza.^[39] After regaining consciousness Millianna watches Minerva's assault on Erza and worries for Erza's safety while Minerva states that she will end Erza.^[40] While still lying on the floor and watching Minerva and Erza's fight, Millianna feels an odd cat-like figure laying on her back, but is unsure as to whether it is real, or simply her imagination.^[41] Millianna is later shocked to see Minerva conjurer explosions to attack Erza.^[42]

Continuing to watch the battle between Minerva and Erza from the ground, Millianna smiles when she sees Erza don her Nakagami Armor and use it to defeat the Sabertooth woman.^[43] A while later, Millianna discovers that there was something on her back, the lump turning out to be none other than Lector, Sting's Exceed companion. Gathering him in her arms, Millianna walks through Crocus until she finds Erza and the rest of Team Fairy Tail standing with Sting, presenting the cat to the Dragon Slayer. As Sting rushes forward to reunite with his friend, Millianna places the now awake cat on the ground, and watches as the two hug.^[44] She then returns by her team's side and looks on as Fairy Tail rejoices in their victory.^[45]

Later on, the participating guilds are gathered by the King of Fiore, who reveals to them the impending attack on Fiore at the hands of 10,000 Dragons. Stating he has a plan, the King requests that the guilds help him in the event that any Dragons survive the Eclipse Cannon, to which Millianna and all the other Mages agree. Kagura attempts to get ready for battle as well, which worries Millianna, who tells her she needs to rest, though she insists on fighting with the others. Seeing their willingness to help, the King breaks down in tears and begins speaking strangely, causing Millianna and several others to look upon him with curiosity.^[46] After a few Dragons cross through the Eclipse Gate and preoccupy the Guild Mages, Millianna turns her attention to the sky as she watches Motherglare launch numerous eggs to the ground, which hatch into smaller entities.^[47] Several minutes later, Millianna bares witness to Jellal's arrival. She glares at Jellal as he helps Erza defend herself against the small creatures.^[48]

Magic and AbilitiesEdit

Nekōsoku Tube (ネ拘束チューブ Nekōsoku Chūbu): Millianna's only ability shown is her capability of conjuring a Magical rope called the Nekōsoku Tube, which she flings at her targets, effectively restraining them.^[1] The Nekōsoku Tube constricts or stretches on command, and, most importantly, can prevent the ones it wraps around from using Magic.^[49]

• Kitten Blast (キトゥンブラスト Kitoun Burasuto): Millianna unleashes a blast of Nekōsoku Tube in a spiral motion with great magical power. The blast was powerful enough to score 365 on the Magic Power Finder, a level that, according to Official Lahar, is sufficient to become a squad captain.^[50]

Hand to Hand Combatant: Millianna has shown the ability to proficiently utilize Melee Combat in battle. During her tag battle with Kagura Mikazuchi against Lyon Vastia and Yuka Suzuki in the Grand Magic Games, she used a variety of melee combat abilities in conjunction with her Nekōsoku Tube to stand her ground.^[51]

• Secret Weapon: Scratch Attack: Using her sharp nails, Millianna lunges towards her opponents and slashes their faces, leaving imprinted scars.^[51]

• Cat Punch: Millianna runs up towards the opponent and jumps atop their shoulders, wraps her legs around their neck in a seated position and unleashes a flurry of swift punches towards their face.^[51]

Kagura Mikazuchi Main article: Kagura Mikazuchi Millianna thinks highly of Kagura because of her strength as she thinks of her powerful enough to beat Erza Scarlet, a close friend and an S-Class Mage of the Fairy Tail Guild. Kagura was also the reason that Millianna left Shô and Wally and joined Mermaid Heel as they share a hatred for Jellal Fernandes who enslaved Millianna and killed Simon and had also taken everything from Kagura.[52] As fellow members of Team Mermaid Heel, Millianna happily cheers for Kagura when she takes part in a battle or event.[53] Erza Scarlet Main article: Erza Scarlet When they were young, Erza and Millianna had developed a close relationship as both were slaves at the Tower of Heaven and members of a small group of children led by Jellal Fernandes. However, because of Jellal who was possessed by Ultear Milkovich, Erza was forced to leave Millianna and the others behind in fear that her possessed friend would kill the others.[54] After eight years, the two were reunited when Millianna and the others attack Erza and her team during their stay at the Akane Resort. However, Millianna and the others were manipulated by Jellal into believing that Erza had abandoned them, prompting Millianna to willingly tie up Erza's friends and kidnap her in order to have her sacrificed to revive Zeref.[55] Following their escape from the tower and the revelation of Erza's innocence, Millianna apologizes to her, repairing their friendship and prompting Erza to invite Millianna, along with Shô and Wally, to join Fairy Tail.[56] The three initially accepted the offer but later decided against it as they wanted to explore the world, having been trapped in the tower their whole lives. Erza willingly accepted their decision and arranges a Fairy Tail Farewell Ceremony for the three, complete with fireworks created by the other members of her team. Millianna is touched by the action and the two parties part, shedding tears of joy.[57] After seven years, Erza and Millianna were reunited as members of two of the eight competing guilds in the Grand Magic Games. Millianna was planning on revealing herself after the competition but her longing for her lost friend made this difficult, prompting her to reveal herself after the second day and causing the two to have a tearful reunion.[58] Jellal Fernandes Main article: Jellal Fernandes Millianna was part of Jellal's group when she was enslaved in the Tower of Heaven. The small group of children started a revolution and the slaves were able to defeat the guards. However, Jellal was possessed by Ultear Milkovich and managed to manipulate Millianna and the others to work for him and complete the tower in order to revive Zeref.[59] After learning the truth and after successfully escaping the tower, Millianna, along with Wally and Shô, decided to travel the world.[57] During their travels, the group somehow learned that Jellal had survived the destruction of the tower, prompting Millianna to join Mermaid Heel in order to find him and avenge Simon whom he had killed.[52] In fact, just seeing him again after seven years, she showed great anger and was going to attack him immediately if Kagura had not stopped her.[60] Happy Main article: Happy Because of her obsession with cats, Millianna immediately took a liking to Happy when Wally gave him to her as a present.[61] When they returned to the Tower of Heaven, Happy was kept in Millianna's cat-themed room and Millianna was overjoyed when she found out that the blue cat can talk.[62] Happy, however, didn't return her enthusiastic feelings and fought her and Wally when Natsu Dragneel arrived to rescue him, despite Millianna's constant attempt to protect him.[63] Simon Main article: Simon Millanna and Simon have known each other for a long time, having been together since they were children, both slaves at the Tower of Heaven and members of a small group of children led by Jellal Fernandes. Over the years, the two developed a close relationship to the point that Simon became one of Millianna's closest friends. Millianna trusted Simon completely to the point that she would follow his orders without question as seen when she was willing to help Lucy Heartfilia and Juvia Lockser when Simon asked her to.[64] Simon's death deeply affected Millianna as she still holds a grudge on the person responsible for his death even after seven years.[52] Shô Main article: Shô Millianna and Shô have known each other since they were children as they were both enslaved in the Tower of Heaven and both were part of a small group of children lead by Jellal Fernandes and the two developed a close relationship during their time together. After learning about Erza's innocence and escaping the tower, the two leave together with Wally in order to travel the world, having been trapped in the tower their whole lives.[57] After some time, Millianna decided to join Mermaid Heel.
