Step 1: Introducing Yourself to the Community

A great way to introduce yourself to the wiki is by creating a blog. This gives you a chance to introduce yourself to the other editors and perhaps make some new friends. You can also join in discussions concerning the recent chapters or episodes. Here is a list of some of the weekly blogs that people are usually waiting for:

1. IamJakuhoRaikoben's Latest Chapter Reviews - a blog by one of our admins, IamJakuhoRaikoben, that is usually created a few hours after the latest chapter has been released. This blog is usually where people voice about their opinion concerning the recent Manga chapters, as well as their predictions as to what may happen next.
2. Miskos3's Latest Episode Reviews - a blog that is usually created a few hours after the latest episode has been premiered. People visit this blog to voice about their opinion concerning the recent Anime episodes.

Users are also free to create different blogs about almost everything. Some people create blogs to find out what other people think about a particular event in the series like the Which Grand Magic Games Team do you like/hate? blog. Some people create blogs to inform fans about the recent announcements concerning the series like the Anime News blog. Some people create blogs to inform users about the best ways to help the wiki like the Guide to Improving the Wiki blog.

Step 2: Familiarizing Yourself with the Policies

Image Policy

The Image Policy is one of the policies that most users (both old and new) are having trouble with. According to the Image Policy, all images that are uploaded must have a Fair use rationale, a description of what the image is about, the source, portion of copyrighted material used, what the image will be used for (i.e. to provide an example of Mirajane's spell), resolution (low, high, medium) and the replaceability. The Fair use rationale can easily be added by filling out the template below:

The Description field is where you put a description about the image, such as who is in it, what they are doing, what kind of spell they are using, etc. The Source field is where you put the source of the image. If it's from the Anime, add {{Image|Anime}}. If it's from the Manga, add {{Image|Manga}}. The Portion field is where you add what episode or chapter the image was taken from. For chapters, use {{Ch|Insert Chapter Number Here}}. For episodes, use {{Ep|Insert Episode Number Here}}. The Purpose field is where you add the reason why you uploaded the image, {{Image|P}} is usually added to this field. The Resolution page is where you add the resolution or quality of the image that you uploaded. This can be done by adding {{Image|H}} for High, {{Image|M}} for Medium or {{Image|L}} for Low. The Replaceability section is usually filled with {{Image|R}}. Lastly, other information concerning the image can be added to the Other Information section.

Licensing should also be added to the images. This can be done by simply adding:

Use tv-screenshot for Anime pictures, comic for Manga images or character for images of a specific character.

Naming Policy

The Naming Policy states that "all names are spelled the way they are found in the Kodansha Manga volumes (the North American distributors of Fairy Tail), and previously Del Rey Manga Volumes. These names are official, as a note stated within the volumes explained, that Hiro Mashima provided the spellings for them. If certain names have not yet been released, then scanlation names are used. All scanlation names will be replaced once Kodansha has released the volumes with the official names in them." Most new users tend to rename characters like Eve Tearm to Eve Thylm. Though Eve Thylm is more commonly used, the wiki does not use it as it is an unofficial name created by scanlators. The name Eve Tearm is the official name provided by Mashima, as seen in the Kodansha Manga volumes.

These two are just some of the policies that causes new users to be blocked. If you follow this, rest assured, no Admin, P&S Councilor or other annoying users would bother you. For a complete list of the wiki's policies, visit here.

Step 4: Joining Guilds/Forming Teams
