ref name format[]

Hi,

I hope this is the right place for such an inquiry.

As Aged Goblin pointed out to me recently, the current manual of style says that multi-reference names should follow the strict format of "Chapter x, Page(s) y" and "Episode z" written out.

Not knowing this I recently changed more than 50 articles (all of the FT members incidentally, current and past, both Overviews and Synopsis if present) to a format of "Ch x, Py" because I thought it'd be more practical. My thoughts were that it's quicker to type and takes up less space, while at the same time not losing any "meaning". You can still recognize the chapter and page at first glance just as if it were written out.

Now the question is what to do from here. Change everything back (hopefully with the help of a bot, since it took me a long time to make those changes by hand), change the manual of style to allow both formats or... just leave it as it is since it's a minor issue anyway?

Minor issue. No worries.

Why do we have a ref name format anyway? >.> --Sane Lunatic (talk) 07:57, June 11, 2016 (UTC)
