The Trivia wall of shame is a list of some of the worst trivia to be entered on to our pages here at Fairy Tail wiki. The list also serves as a warning of how not to make trivia on this site. If you come across any particularly bad trivia additions edited into the articles, feel free to add it to the list below.

  • Bisca Connell - In spanish the word "Bisca" refers to the person that has a lazy eye.
  • Bisca Connell - In Dhivehi, the word "Bisca" means that a person is eating eggs.
  • Juvia Lockser - Juvia seems to like rock music, since in the Tower of Heaven, moments before encountering Vidaldus, she and Lucy hear him playing his guitar, Lucy says that it sounds horrible, on which Juvia comments that she likes it.
  • Vidaldus Taka - "Vidaldus" might be coming from the name "Vivaldi" who is a famous composer, knowing that Vidaldus is related to music.
  • Zeref - The fact he knows Natsu may be related to why Natsu wasn't allowed to leave Fried's Runes in the Fighting Festival Arc. However, it could also be a side-effect of Dragon Slayer Magic.
  • Zeref - Zeref resembles Hughes, which makes it a possibility that Hughes is his Edolas counterpart, even with the time skip like Wendy's.
  • Zeref - Charle had a vision of him at the S-Class Wizard Promotion Trial. In it, he was apparently standing over a body with angered eyes. Natsu and Cana were shown crying, implying that the body mostly likely belonged to a Fairy Tail member.
  • Zeref - In the manga, Zeref somehow cried when he meets with Natsu.
  • Zeref - Fan Speculation popularises the idea that Zeref is the Dragon Slayer of the Black Dragon, indicated by his sharp canines and his use of "black magic". There is also the possibility that he is a God Slayer, as his eyes have recently been shown to possess the same ringed irises as Zancrow.
  • Zeref - Zeref's "angry eyes" resemble the "Rinnegan" from the "Naruto" series
  • Lucy Heartfilia - Both she and her outfit bear several similarities with Asuka Tenjouin [1] From the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX series [2]
  • Jellal Fernandes - Jellal seems to be a bad liar.
  • Jellal Fernandes - According to a Wiki poll, Jellal is the favorite antagonist in a certain arc.
  • Jellal Fernandes - The symbol in Jellal's eye when he was evil resembles another symbol featured in an episode of the TV series "Supernatural" (Season 1 episode 16). The symbol is called the Zoroastrian and for creatures called Daeva, "Demons of Darkness".
  • Jellal Fernandes - Both Jellal and Mystogan defected from their respected organization, but Jellal betrayed the Magic Council.
  • Jellal Fernandes - Although unconfirmed, Jellal's father may be the Earthland counterpart of Faust (Mystogan's father).
  • Jellal Fernandes - In the manga, in chapter 95, Jellal said "I love you, Erza." It is unknown whether or not he meant it due to the fact that Zeref took possession of his body.
  • Jellal Fernandes - He used Mystogan as his name when first introduced.
  • Jellal Fernandes - Fairy Tail member, Mystogan looks exactly like him.
  • Ultear Milkovich - In the manga, Ultear is born practically bald. In the anime however, she is born with a full set of hair.
  • Ultear Milkovich - It's hinted she may have feelings for Zeref.
  • Ultear Milkovich - Early in the manga, her appearance somewhat resembled Nico Robin from One Piece.
  • Meredy - Her Magic might be connected with heaven or spirits.
  • Meredy - She resembles Lisanna. Actually, she could be the Edolas Lisanna (their hairstyles are similar).
  • Meredy - Her wing-like headgear accessory is similar to Aurica Nestmile's from the game Ar Tonelico.
  • Azuma - His earrings resemble Doryu's Dark Bring Vampire.
  • Azuma - His magical abilities are similar to Swampfire from Ben10.
  • Azuma - The design of his beard and his name vaguely resemble "Asuma Sarutobi" Naruto manga and anime.
  • Capricorn - By elimination and from being a member of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, he may represent the sin of Envy, even though he hasn't shown it.
  • Rustyrose - He bears a striking resemblance to Loke. Whether this has an importance to the story or is merely coincidence is yet to be seen.
  • Rustyrose - As a member of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, he could represent the sin Greed, since his professional-looking appearance makes him look business like.
  • Rustyrose - It is possible that he uses rose-related Magic, due to his name and because he had a rose background in Yomazu's introduction.
  • Rustyrose - If he uses rose-related Magic, it will be similar to Jegan, from Rave Master, who uses a Dark Bring which ability was based in plant control.
  • Rustyrose - His name comes from American wrestler Dusty Rhodes.
  • Zancrow - Zancrow's power refers to the Japanese God of Fire Kagutsuchi.
  • Zancrow - He has a similar temperament as Natsu, as when Zancrow gets excited, he covers his body with flames. And when he saw one of his allies depressed he tried to comfort her. His appearance also resembles that of Natsu's. In addition, he has sharp canines like Natsu does, as revealed in Chapter 218. However, Zancrow is not above attacking his own allies at the slightest hint of weakness, which Natsu would never do.
  • Zancrow - His abilities may be a reference to the God of War series, just like Hades. In the third God of War there were the Flames of Olympus, which had the power to kill gods, and Zancrow's magic is God Slayer, the power to kill gods.
  • Zancrow - Zancrow's eyes resemble the Rinnegan seen in the manga Naruto.
  • Zancrow - Zancrow's fighting style/technique uses "black flames" which are very similar to the Amaterasu flames used by several Sharingan users (e.g. Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Sasuke) in the manga Naruto.
  • Zancrow - His spiky hair is very similar to a Super Saiyan from Akira Toriyama´s best known series Dragon Ball.
  • Zancrow - He could be a "Dragon Slayer".
  • Zancrow - Aside from having the same urges as Natsu, he also bears a bit of resemblance to Natsu. This could possibly hint at him being Natsu's brother.
  • Kain Hikaru - He is the only Grimoire Guild member where both, first name and last name are known.
  • Kain Hikaru - He is one of the few characters in the series with names in Kanji. However, the pronunciation of his name is given in Katakana instead.
  • Kain Hikaru - As a member of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, he most likely represents the sin of Gluttony, due to his overweight appearance.
  • Kain Hikaru - His name and criss-cross fashion collar belt around him are based on Kain from the Legacy of Kain.
  • Midnight - Midnight is apparently a sadist as he likes watching people suffer around him.
  • Midnight - Many people were confused of Midnight's gender because of his clothes, hair, and feminine body shape, however it was later reveal to be a male after "he" and "his" was used more to make it more definite.
  • Kagura Mikazuchi - Her attire resembles Ikaruga's, a character from Senran Kagura.
  • Mermaid Heel - Is the only Guild out of the 8 that made it through Sky Labyrinth that did not have its Guild Master revealed during the games.
  • Kagura Mikazuchi - She could be an S-class Mage of Mermaid Heel.
  • Kagura Mikazuchi - She owns Yukino's life.
  • Kagura Mikazuchi - She is unable to maintain her stability when near Jellal Fernandes.
  • Simon - His last name could be: Simon Mikazuchi.
  • Sorano - She and Angel from the Oración Seis share a shocking resemblance.
  • Millianna - She and Catwoman, a fictional character, share similar traits.
  • Minerva Orland - She possess the ruthless personality Azula, a character from the avatar, displays.
  • Flare Corona - Is the second non-Fairy Tail Mage to return after the end of the Grand Magic Games. Minerva being the first.
  • Gildarts Clive - His appearance resembles Shanks, a character from One Piece.
  • Hoteye - Hoteye greatly resembles Bartholomew Kuma, a Character from the manga "One Piece". They are both taller than a normal person, have a wide upper torso and have a oddly shaped face. Also, when Hoteye first appeared with the rest of Oración Seis, he held a book against his chest, just like Kuma, who is usually seen with a bible.
  • Hoteye - Hoteye is probably the older brother.
  • Hoteye - Hoteye's obsession with money is similar to Kakuzu from the anime Naruto Shippuden.
  • Angel - Angel's prayer of fading into the sky is ironically opposed by her fear of water. This was said in her chapter description and also when she fell into the water after she was defeated by Lucy Heartfilia.
  • Cobra - Even though he is a Dragon Slayer for the element poison, his Poison Dragon's Roar sends viruses in his enemy's body (poison and viruses are two different things).
  • Cobra - Cobra is the only Dragon Slayer without a surname.
  • Racer - Brain asked Racer to go get Jellal's coffin, which was continents away, because of Racer's fast speed. However, it was later revealed that his Magic doesn't speed him up, but rather slows his opponents down, meaning he would have taken as much time as a normal person to get there. In both the anime and he manga, he said that he couldn't get enough speed with such a heavy thing on his back as an excuse, but still took only a few hours. Presumably, Racer used his motorcycles to retrieve the coffin, which were designed to be as fast as he was supposed be.
  • Taurus - Taurus is the only entirely anthropomorphic animal Celestial Spirit, Aquarius does not count, for only half of her body is animal.
  • Taurus - Taurus is most likely Lucy's first Gold Key Celestial Spirit.
  • Taurus - In the manga, both Taurus and Scorpio's appearances changed.
  • Aquarius - She is in a relationship with another Celestial Spirit Scorpio, which is odd because Aquarius and Scorpio are not all that romantically compatible according to zodiac compatibility.
  • Aquarius - In book 182, when Lucy summons Aquarius to fight Hughes, it is the only time Aquarius has not argued with Lucy. It is suggested that Aquarius' attitude toward Lucy has been tempered by Lucy's ownership of Scorpio.
  • Virgo - She is Loke's sister. That was revealed in Edolas arc when Lucy summons Loke, but he can't appear because he has a date.
  • Sagittarius - Sagitarius' form is a resemblance of both Lucy and Gray opinion. Gray said: Uma.. Err... Horse upper with human body, Lucy said: Human upper with horse body. Result= It's a whole human in a horse costume. It's probably that fight that made his form like that. Remember that a Stellar Spirit resembles what the owner wants?
  • Sagittarius - Sagittarius has a British accent in the English dub because the way he says "hello hello" is how English gentleman greet themselves.
  • Loke - In the horoscopes Leo is compatible with Aries, which could be why Loke went through extreme measures to help free her.
  • Loke - Loke's original character design bears a strong resemblance to Ichigo Kurosaki of Tite Kubo's original Bleach manga. However, they have very different personalities.
  • Loke - "Loke" most probably comes from Loki, the Norse god of trickery. The name Loke also contains the letters L, e, and o.
  • Loke - In the anime the message he wrote with his light magic " I Love Lucy," is also the name of a popular old TV show.
  • Loke - Due to his status as a Celestial Spirit, it is possible that he has no Edolas counterpart.
  • Loke - Since Karen's death, he has worn glasses.
  • Loke - The astrological sign Leo means "Lion" however Loke doesn't have any characteristics of a lion other than the Magic techniques he uses.
  • Loke - Oddly, like Happy and Pantherlily he also has his guild mark in the center of his back, and is feline in nature.
  • Loke - In the manga, the strands above his ears look like ears.
  • Loke - Loke's name could come from an anagram. Loke, rearranged, spells "Leo" which leaves a K which is the first letter of Karen's name.
  • Scorpio - Unlike Aquarius, Scorpio hasn't shown any hostility or dislike towards Lucy.
  • Gemini - It's possible for Gemini to be stronger than Loke/Leo as it is able to Mimic.
  • Gemini - Gemini and Capricorn are the only ones that aren't shown in the second OVA, Fairy Academy.
  • Pisces - It bears resemblance to Yin and Yang, the two koi fish that represent the ocean and the moon in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
  • Kageyama - Kageyama greatly resembles Shikamaru Nara from the Naruto series. His appearance as well as his magic resemble Shikamaru, as both of them bend their shadow to attack.
  • Hades - In Greek Mythology the name 'Hades' refers to the God of the Underworld. He is a dark god. This refers to the evil nature of Hades.
  • Hades - Hades' chain magic was probably based on the weapon that was used by Hades from the video game God of War III. Which the game's protagonist, Kratos, stole from him.
  • Hades - His real name, Purehito, could mean pure-heart (pure-person).
  • Hades - Hades has an eyepatch over his right eye. Coincidentally, Org of the Magic Council constantly closes his right eye, and has yet to open them even once. He also resembles Hades to some degree.
  • Makarov Dreyar - Makarov may or may not be named after the Russian semi-automatic pistol of the same name.
  • Makarov Dreyar - In Chapter 216, Makarov suffers his first (fair and square) defeat from a terrible and utterly manner versus his former Guild Master Purehito (a.k.a. Hades) in a battle (unlike Aria, who use a sneak attack and defeat Makarov spreading his magic). His opponent was so incredibily powerful that Makarov wasn´t capable of damage him despite from his magic level. Although, he possibly can´t win because he felt betrayed by his former master when knew that he was Hades, his enemy.
  • Makarov Dreyar - Like all the Dreyar's, Markarov wears a coat with fur on it.
  • Ichiya Vandalay Kotobuki - He shares the same Seiyuu as Aizen Sōsuke, the lead antagonist of popular manga and anime, Bleach, ironic, seeing as Aizen is almost always emnotionless, cunning and powerful, whereas Ichiya is about the excect opposite.
  • Hibiki Lates - Although he said he didnt have anyone he was interested in, when he learns that Angel killed Karen he mentions internally and briefly that she was his lover (although she did seem to have a lot fo those).
  • Hibiki Lates - Even though he is a shameless flirt/player, it is said that he has a slight crush on Lucy
  • Ren Akatsuki - His last name also might be a referrence to Naruto shippuuden the clan called Akatsuki
  • Bob - He seems to have traits of both an okama (transvestite) and a homosexual.
  • Natsu Dragneel - Although he acts perverted, Natsu has been embarrassed when it came to seeing nude woman. This was first shown when Erza ordered Natsu and Gray to take a bath and they refused, she told them that the three of them (Natsu, Gray and Erza herself) could bathe together in the same tub. This shocked and embarrassed them.
  • Kamika - The word "kami" (though 紙 which means 'paper' is used rather than 神 which means 'god') can be translated as "god" or "paper", which is in her name as well as how she refers to her attacks.
  • Cana Alberona - Although she is Fairy Tail's heaviest drinker, and hardly gets drunk, even Cana has her limits. This was shown in Chapter 275, she passed out during a drinking contest with Bacchus, which she lost her bra to and was temporarily chest naked. Apparently, she drank to much alcohol before the contest.
  • Bickslow - If you google translate the fairytail official websate his name is Bigslow.
  • Elfman Strauss - His lastname "Strauss" is German and means Ostrich.
  • Juvia Lockser - Lyon, childhood friend and senior of Gray is in loved with Juvia.
  • Juvia Lockser - Juvia's theme is an instrumental version of Air on a G string from Johann Sebastian Bach.
  • Wendy Marvell - Wendy does not like the picture that Reedus drew of her older only because she was flat chested in it.
  • Wendy Marvell - Gajeel frequently calls her "girlie".
  • Wendy Marvell - Like Lucy and Levy, Wendy changes her outfit in each arc.
  • Cana Alberona - Cana and Gray are the same age.
  • Max Alors - In almost any brawls, Max's pants are pulled down and a mop or stick shaped item is lodged into his butt.
  • Virgo - Virgo has tanned skin in her "Gorilla" form, but in her other form, her skin is pale.
  • Episode 12 - This is one of the very few episodes that feature swearing. For example, at the part where Grey stands before the frozen Deliora, he says "hell".
  • Crime Sorcière - All members of Crime Sorcière have their first name in 6 letters.
  • Nine Demon Gates - All members of the Nine Demon Gates are demons except Silver.
  • Laki Olietta - Laki is a Dragon Slayer. It was shown in the Manga Volume 26 Chapter 273 Page 2.
  • Hatchling - The spell Hatchling, was based on a newly hatched animal with the same name because eggs hatch into newly hatched animals.
  • Ezel - Ezel means 'donkey' in Dutch.
  • Erza Scarlet - Erza Knightwalker might have been inspired by Erza Scarlet's concept art.
  • Amaterasu - The Amaterasu is originaly a techniuqe from Anime: Natuto Shippuden in which the user could make their eyes bleed in order to create black flames similar to Fire God Slayer Magic.
  • Fire Dragon King's Brilliant Flame - The way it is performed is similar to the Kamehameha Wave of the Dragon Ball Franchise.
