Failed Kidnapping at the Grand Magic Games is an event that took place during the Grand Magic Games arc.

PrologueEdit

Wendy Marvell and Carla are attacked before the Preliminary event of the X791 Grand Magic Games, Sky Labyrinth, by having their entire Magical power drained out of them and only being able to remember some black creature coming to attack them.^[1] Raven Tail then reveal themselves to be the attackers and say that that was their little way of saying hello to Fairy Tail.^[2]

Kidnapping and RescueEdit

Natsu Dragneel, who was carried to the infirmary by Lucy Heartfilia, after passing out from the event he was in, earlier in the day, awakens to find the room empty and an unfamiliar scent in the air.^[3] With that, Natsu follows his nose in order to search for them to find his guildmates being carried away by some masked strangers.^[4]

Seeing that Wendy Marvell, Carla and Porlyusica, were being carried away by four suspicious looking individuals, Natsu Dragneel chases them. One of the kidnappers, realizing that they are being pursued, drops back in order to delay Natsu. He pulls out a couple of guns but even before he gets to use it, the young Dragon Slayer clothesline him. With Natsu not even slowing down, the kidnappers debate among themselves whether they should drop Carla and Porlyusica, since they were only required the take the young girl. Hearing this, Natsu picks up the pace and attacks them, asking for what they mean.^[5] He eventually manages to defeat them without sustaining any visible damage himself.^[6]

AftermathEdit

After the kidnappers were defeated and captured, an official came to take them into custody. Before they were taken away, the kidnappers "confessed" that Raven Tail was the one responsible, claiming that they were requested to kidnap the "girl" that was in the sick bay. Wendy Marvell, Carla and Porlyusica speculate that they might not have actually been the target, with the real target being Lucy Heartfilia. This is confirmed when the official who took the kidnappers into custody is later seen explaining how the plan had failed, but that they managed to shift the blame to Raven Tail, to Arcadios. Arcadios stated that they didn't even capture the right girl, but that he'll use the tension between Fairy Tail and Raven Tail to capture the Celestial Spirit Mage for Zeref's Eclipse Plan.^[7]
