The Strongest Wizard is the 521st chapter of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail.

With Universe One dispelled, the final clash between Alvarez and Fairy Tail is set to take place in Magnolia. As August and Gildarts, the strongest two Mages on either side, begin their battle, Gray stumbles upon Zeref in the guild building, and is set on killing him.

Summary

Mirajane wins her bout against Jacob

When Fiore regains its original form due to the dispelling of Universe One, the Fairy Tail Mages find themselves in Magnolia and immediately charge towards their Guild under Mavis' command; however, Laxus sedately accompanies his guildmates as he carries his grandfather's body. Simultaneously, Mirajane manages to defeat Jacob by taking advantage of his aversion to the sight of the female body, while, elsewhere, her siblings take down the Desert King. Yajeel tries to get his grandson to withdraw, claiming their losses in the war to be too heavy; however, this earns him a rebuke from their opponents who consider the Empire insensitive to the suffering of those they have waged war against previously. Fearful for Ajeels's life, Yajeel begs they kill him instead, but the two Strausses calmly state that they do not kill their enemies and peace descends upon the group.

	August makes his move

Meanwhile, Natsu, Happy and Lucy search for their companions, but are sought out by Brandish instead. Noticing a miniature Dimaria in her hand, Natsu apologizes to her for brutalizing her earlier, but she appears too frightened to pay attention. Brandish confirms her neutrality in the war henceforth and takes her leave, albeit happy to know that Lucy would like to meet again afterwards. Natsu's group is then approached by Porlyusica, Carla and Evergreen, who inform them of Gray's absence. However, their discussion is cut short when they sense August standing atop Kardia Cathedral.

The aged Mage realizes that he is the last of the Spriggan 12 left in the war and prepares to annihilate the entire city and its occupants, friends and foes alike, much to the despair of those who realize his intentions. However, Gildarts engages him before he is able to launch his attack and orders his heartened allies to let him take care of August. Natsu immediately heads for Zeref, believing Gray to have gone to the same place. Meanwhile, in Fairy Tail's Guild hall, Zeref expresses his surprise as well as his disappointment to find Gray to be the first one to reach him, apologizing to Natsu for the inevitable result of their clash.
